I did not notice until I discovered the bank was closed. That was mildly annoying (I could have stayed at home/office).

Turns out, part of Chris' history was long term trolling people, which his masterpiece is how all the banks are closed on some Monday 100s of years later.

Strangly, not everyone's happy about That. If you morons keep it up you may not be happy with the midterms.

Schools are open, local gubmint offices and services, too, just about everything is business as usual.

No mail delivery, banks and Federal offices closed.

Not many know, and nobody cares...
Italians like to celebrate Columbus Day. Our local Little Italy had a parade and festival today. Heavens forbid, some people like to enjoy days that are special to them. St. Patrick's Day is next. Let's work on..."Make America Joyless" LOL

I'm all for monuments. We should put up some large murals of the etchings done by Bartolomé de las Casas. He was a contemporary of Columbus, and sailed on two of the voyages, among others. He was also the first person to be ordained a Catholic priest in the New World. His first account of the Columbus and subsequent voyages was titled A Short Account of the Destruction of the Indies. Later he published a three volume work called History of the Indies. Here are some of the illustrations:

After all, these are first hand accounts of the early voyages to the New world. Why don't we teach kids about this in school?
    Thanks from Friday13
