I think the BBC's reputation for solid reporting means, you owe this documentary a second listen with your ears OPEN.

    Amirite, @Dangermouse?
Oh dear you need to pay more attention.

They offered no supporting evidence for any of their claims.

Sourcing someone who simply states an idea is not evidence.

The claim that the mafia killed JFK much less was allowed by Hoover is pure manufactured fiction.

The rest is merely extremist opinion

It went off the rails the instant they started talking about the mafia assassinating JFK.

Oswald acted alone and that is fact and the wierd leap in to fictional conspiracy theories destroys any credibility the documentary might have.
But Obama was the anti-christ born in Kenya, looking to start a new world order...oh, and brought Ebola to America to kill ‘muricans...

Nothing is EVER the whole story.

There is never a perfect explanation for anything whatsoever.

The Warren Commission was however the most comprehensive and well supported criminal in investigation in US history and it's conclusions are sound.

The BBC documentary is not sound nor supported by evidence

Do you admit JFK was assasinated?

Let's start there and see if we have any agreement.

Hoover hated RFK, because as JFK's AG, he made a very public, very effective push to bring down the Mafia. They had a weird history. Hoover was very close with Joe McCarthy, and RFK had been the HUAC general counsel during the Red Scare. Which should have made them allies, and did not.

By 1960, Hoover's racism and paranoia about Communists aka the Civil Rights and Anti-War movements were at an astonishing height, but RFK (correctly) identified the unchecked growth of organized crime as America's top threat to law and order.

He went after men Hoover was in thrall to, not only for the blackmail, but because Hoover felt the Mafia had assisted the Americans and their allies in WWII -- even though Mussolini was our sworn enemy. Hoover felt they deserved some consideration, and probably had promised them immunity from criminal prosecution. A promise RFK broke, and in the process, publicly humiliated Hoover.

Bullshit. That report is patently a snowjob.

Question one: why did Jack Ruby kill Oswald? HOW did he get close enough to kill him?

Jack "Ruby" Rubenstein was a tough Jewish strip club owner who had been "Mob affiliated" from age 5. Not exactly believable in the role of the Great Irish Catholic Avenger.

No one ever denied JFK was murdered.

    By Oswald.

There is no evidence that anyone else was involved.

Also there was no paranoia over communism.

The threat was real and still is.

Interesting documentary on this, and related events, free on YouTube: "Best of Enemies", about the debates between Gore Vidal and William F. Buckley Jr. which began in 1960, on ABC.

Edit: I am wrong, but I can't figure out the correct dates, etc. I think the election of interest, as to Reagan's failed bid for the GOP nomination is 1960, not 1964. But wikipedia says Reagan was not seeking the GOP nomination that year.

Anyone care to correct my terrible confusion?
Oh gosh, I remember the two of them appearing together on late night television. They elevated insults to a high art form.

No it was not a snow job it is supported by massive evidence and has never been refuted.

Ruby was never affiliated with the MOb he merely claimed that he was so affiliated to make himself look more dangerous.

Ruby stated openly several times why he killed Oswald and his explanations are quite plausible. He got close enough to do so by simply walking into the basement garage. There is no mystery to it.
