yet our local Rightwing Christians who constantly claim they are "persecuted" here in America?

have no complaints against Russia, who is ACTUALLY DOING IT???
JWs are not viewed as Christians by most other sects.

The ones I have met tho are pretty nice folks..you would not know if they are JW unless they told you I have never met a Scientologist. Seems like they are more of a California, wealthy people organization.
It's the shunning I disapprove of most. The tithing is also abusive, but I suppose that could be said about many sects. But JWs strive to create a closed society, centered on the Fellowship Hall, and members are encouraged to sever ties with anyone who leaves. STRONGLY encouraged.

This has led to many, many parents cutting off their adult kids, etc.

When I lived in an apartment, they would knock on my door every few months. And they would regularly leave a half-dozen issues of "The Watchtower" in the communal laundry room.

Usually, I didn't engage them, but once I did - and was awestruck by their speaking skills. There were two of them, a black guy and white guy. The latter appeared to be in training; the black guy did most of the talking. And his speaking skills were flawless. Every word was clear; nothing mispronounced or slurred. No slang. Every sentence was perfectly structured. There were NO vocalized pauses ("um, "er," "well,")... and when I forced him off-script, he didn't falter in the slightest. We debated religion and philosophy for about 20 minutes... when we were done, I told him that I can't share his religious views, but I applauded his remarkable oratory skills.

This guy could have given Morgan Freeman a run for his money - and I don't say that lightly.

Do you have a link for accusations against Kirill? It doesn't matter if they're in Russian. It's been a while but I could use some practice.
    Links, I have many, enjoy:

1999 Guardian article about Kirill's predecessor, Alexey, and that man's past as a KGB spy: Russian Patriarch 'was KGB spy'

    Russian article from 2012, which estimates His Holiness' personal net worth, at the time, at $4 billion: ??? ????????? ????????? ??????????? ??????? ? 4 ????????? ???????? ??? | ??????.?? ? ??????????????? ??????? ??????

    Probably MORE now...

Worth $4-6.5 million, the yacht was built in the Netherlands, for the Russian Presidential Administration, Putin himself used it for awhile (he has like four or five yachts, all even bigger and nicer than this one lol)

Then, the oil corporation LUKOil apparently bought the yacht from the government, and "gifted" it to the Church haha

    Planes:

He has a personal Russian government plane for official visits abroad, Il-96, elite version, from the special squadron "Rossiya", just like Putin and Medvedev also use

He also has a jet gifted to him by the airline Transaero, which, ironically, is in big financial troubles at the moment, and may get taken over by Aeroflot at some point lol

And he has like three other private jets

And here, he meets a delegation from the Greek Orthodox Church on his personal train

The Greeks were said to have been shocked by his opulent lifestyle lmao

I started laughing by the time I was reading the first sentence of the rugrad.eu article you gave. "раб божий" - the writer of the article has a classical Slav dark sense of humour.
I had to look at that article from Novaya Gazeta. The article says that he had amassed 4 billion in wealth before he ascended to the patriarchal throne. On wikipedia I see that's 2009. I think you are absolutely right. By now that's probably far far greater. Horrible.

JWs' peculiar brand of sect originates from...

Their current HQ is located in...

    See your local consulate.

    Case closed.

Russian Supreme Court starts the process to outlaw the JWs: Russian Court Considers Outlawing Jehovah's Witnesses | Time.com

In other funny news, it is also now against the law to draw Putin as gay, or, at least, to share such an image: Itís now illegal in Russia to share an image of Putin as a gay clown

I'm not a persecuting kind of guy. Not my bag. But I have to admit.

    If I were.

They'd be high on the list
