An opposition leader without any political power (he doesn't hold any office nor does anyone he is associated with) who's very wealthy.

In a country where Putin could destroy him if he wanted, like he destroyed Mikhail Hodorkovsky who was a true and die hard anti-Putinist, this Navalny guy looks like he's thriving. Yeah, sure, he's in and out of courtroom but he is very well off. Doesn't make much sense if he is such a thorn in Putin's side.

Either the guy's a complete muppet or he is a Putin's puppet.

You've been posting news about him for years now and the only thing he seems to have managed to do is shout slogans against Putin on the streets of Moscow with dwindling support as years go by.
Tens of thousands turned out for his protests this year. He has plenty of support.

However... You could be right about the Kremlin secretly controlling him.

They have his brother, in a prison camp: Brother of Russian opposition leader Navalny denied parole

He, Oleg, is totally in their power and at their mercy there. If they wanted to, they could move him out into gen pop (I believe he is segregated, for now) and have some guy who is already serving life and has nothing to lose and doesn't give a shit fucking shank him to death in the shower room, in return for some money to his family. They could easily end Oleg's life, at any moment.

I have considered before that this is likely something Alexei has been threatened with, probably.

Time will tell if he has indeed broke and bowed to the Kremlin.

Yeah. The problem is that it's conspiracy theory territory which is very popular in Russia as well as Serbia. Not necessarily true.
But having his brother in jail where Putin, as you point out, could kill him as easy as snapping his fingers does make one wonder.

Russia is really a dark place. I've said it a million times and I'll say it again. Stupid Berezovsky and Tatyana Yumasheva but most of all God damn Boris Yeltsin. May he rot in hell for what he did to that country and how he crushed her spirit. Drunk fucktard.
    Thanks from The Man

I can't disagree with you there...
