And what, pray tell, would be so wrong with getting good and stoned, and then sitting down to write some science fiction??

Nothing in fact eat a brownie for me. I do not indulge myself but only because I don't like the feeling of being not in control, I don't drink either. Shurg

My idea for a novel springs from a sci-fi story I created in high school. It basically explores how evil develops in a person, from the inside out, told in the third person subjective limited (though I have considered first person).

Asimov is my biggest influence, and so my story will be more about the grand sweep of history, the rise and fall of empires, the outward expansion into the cosmos.....and what we will find out there.....

I've been a non-drinker for some 17 years now. Alcohol and I just don't 'agree'. I was never a heavy drinker; just decided one day that I could do without it, entirely. Happier without it.
