Putin says Trump should be respected

I'm guessing we'll never see the sanctions play out with this kind of ass kissing.

Putin says Trump should be respected

SOCHI, Russia (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday President Donald Trump should be respected because he has a democratic mandate.
“He has been elected by the American people and at least because of this he should be respected, even if we disagree with his position”, Putin said at a forum with scholars.

I guess Putin is ignorant of the definition of a "democratic mandate".

Hmmm......... weren't certain posters arguing for non recognition of the popular vote just a couple of days ago?

Putin's way is "managed democracy". That's where one guy seats in the top office for, now, 18 years; and for Governors and other lower positions, HE gets to choose HIS preferred candidates, and you then vote for the ones HE likes. And if YOU don't like them, too fucking bad... lol

    That's Putin-style "democracy"...

Yeah well, I'll respect Trump as much as I respect Putin. That is to say, not at all.

Trump wishes he could rule like Putin lol

Go and make one of his bodyguards a regional Governor, just because he felt like it

I believe there are at least 3 or 4 regions in Russia now, as of last couple years, being run by former members of Putin's personal security detail I am perfectly serious.

Apparently, according to one, you don't have a popular vote despite being a democratic country. That's quite a strange situation.

With the the likes of ISIS and North Korea, what are two major Western countries (America and Russia) constantly do? Squabble.

Do you think in these two nations history, they will eventually be run by adults to get their own house in order. How can we expect world problems to be sorted when the West suffers from in-house fighting?

Hmm is Russia really a "Major western country"? heck, South Korea has a higher GDP than Russia plus two third of it is in Asia.
