I am,in no way defending those who wish to live in a glorious past. I simply posted how many feel, the reason they voted for Trump. Coal mines, even Steel mils will never be the same. Auto parts are increasingly made of plastics, etc. Coal is obsolete.

The smart person moves on,learns new skills. They are successful.

My Son was talking yesterday about Data Processing he took in High School. If he had taken that in Vocational School for that it would have been obsolete before he finished. Instead he chose Machine Trades So he had the background for Engineering, wise choice, even today.

I just wanted a discussion to show why so many Blue Collar Workers voted for Trump. We shall see how his latest threat works out.
I just posted in another thread that 70% of voters prefer democratic policies but dont like their social issues. They feel angry and left out. They want to hear more about healthcare, wages, economy and retirement. Your senator Sherrod Brown and others in the rust belt understand that and try to keep those issues out front. But then others want to talk more about the social issues or the Russia investigation. Those same voters feel left out again. People want to hear if they can afford to feed their family and send their kid to college not another show about Russia. Let Mueller do his job and fix those problems in the midwest. Democrats so far, especially on the coasts, dont do that. I heard Cory Booker even say Sherrod Brown doesnt understand tariffs! Thats not smart. Brown knows too well about them.

They want to be the next Kim Kardashian or video game player. Its kind of sad actually. There are still some very goal oriented, but so many are addicted to social media and think they can be the next star.

Some are but not all, college applications are way down. Less than 50% of our graduating class this year is going. Its a combination of "they need to find themselves and are taking time off" and its just too expensive.

Thanks Baj. I even posted this somewhere else where I was fumed at. I see the Democratic Party has become the Party of Identity Politics and it is not working. The average person is not interested. They want to hear about solving their problems.

I am not unaware of where Democrats are dead wrong. Steelworkers in NorthernOhio are cheering for Trump. Most Democrats do not take the time to think this through. In their minds Trump is doing Something for them!

Of course when his actions start hurting they may think different.

I would vote for Sherrod in a heart beat.

No matter how much the Pundits and MSM rant, they will only see that Trump is doing things for THEM!
    Thanks from bajisima

Thats true of all politicians and people, they want whats best for them, their family and their town. Trump, whether one likes him or not, realized that, went into all those little towns holding rallies and said he would help them. Democrats just fell short. They didnt visit, they said they were uneducated and dumb. I still remember years ago when dems campaigned at union rallies, factories and manufacturing plants. Now they go to Hollywood. I dont get it, its a shame. I do think Biden would have gone though, he doesnt mind getting dirty. Traveled in PA during 2015 and there were signs "Biden 2016" from people hoping he would run. Those same areas voted for Trump. Biden could have won. He didnt play social identity politics but bread and butter.

    I could not agree more.

War has been with humans since there were humans. The only thing that has changed is the lethality of the weapons.

but have we learned anything? that's the problem. MAD is reality. one mistake, and we can make this planet uninhabitable for humans. I'm not one for tempting fate.
