Maybe I was premature. I thought they had agreed to it. Maybe only their diplomats had!

I said you're starting to SOUND like him, not LOOK like him! And I wasn't comparing your wives, either! When you start calling countries 'shitholes', though, I bet you and Donald Trump would agree on some of the same countries.....Just sayin'.

(Reuters) - More than 1,000 Macedonians protested on Saturday evening against the change of the name of the former Yugoslav Republic which was agreed with neighboring Greece to end a decades-long dispute.

Macedonia has to amend its constitution to conform with the provisions of the deal. A referendum is also expected in Macedonia in the autumn.

Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov also opposes the accord. He refused to sign the agreement even though it was ratified by the parliament on Wednesday.

Some countries actually simply are though... Including plenty ex-Soviet and Balkan ones. And decades of Commie rule do have some blame in that.

I was mentioning populations which were deported at the time of Stalin. Of course over History many ethnic groups did move very far from their regions of origin….. for any reasons (wars, migrations etc...), like the Turks who went West and perhaps also even East etc.…. and the Europeans who colonized the Americas.

Well, if we are going to recall past crimes, we can always remember also all the Slavs from nearby villages, Russians and Ukrainians, Crimean Tatars stole, abducted, and sold into slavery to the Turks or kept for themselves, before Empress Ekaterina finally dealt with them. All the women they raped in captivity. Children too. Want to go there? I don't. But if the Tatars want to look to the past, the Russians can too, you know?

You realize, of course, that the Star Trek utopian future had a united Earth, and that hundreds or thousands of small states (worldwide) would likely end up involving more wars and reconstitution into large countries again, maybe larger than now? The world is too small a place anymore.

While I certainly don't want to live forever - at least, not if I have to keep getting older - it'd be nice to see what comes up when I'm 150 (though 120 should be enough...).
