The Failed Saudi-Russian Talks: Desperate Diplomacy as Syria Implodes
You could call it the Hail Mary pass of diplomatic relations. In a desperate attempt to find some solution to the ongoing Syria crisis, now in its third year with no end in sight, Saudi Arabia’s intelligence chief Prince Bandar bin Sultan reportedly offered Russian President Vladimir Putin a multi-billion dollar arms deal to curb Moscow’s support for the Syrian regime of President Bashar Assad when they met in Moscow last week. The deal was rebuffed; on Friday the Kremlin responded to news accounts about the proposal with a terse rebuttal, telling Reuters that no deal had been discussed in detail. Earlier news accounts, including Reuters, quoted unnamed Arab and Western diplomats describing a deal in which Saudi Arabia would buy some $15 billion worth of Russian weapons in addition to offering assurances that Gulf countries wouldn’t threaten Russia’s dominance of the European gas market in exchange for a commitment that Moscow would not block future United Nations Security Council resolutions on Syria. The threat of a Russian veto has been the major obstacle to any UN actions in Syria.

ROFL - "desperate diplomacy as Syria implodes".

I guess by imploding they mean that Assad's winning again.

I dunno, I still see those guys pigging out every time they go to Paris to talk about Syria. I'm pretty sure "desperate" is when they actually skip lunch.

Have they considered sending out peace fielders to Assad, as it is only a few months probably till he wins the war.

The powers that be are not interested in peace with Assad unless of course he agrees to sell oil in dollars. Same as with Iraq and Iran. They are doing the same thing in Syria as they did in Iraq. If any nation does not comply with their demands then they just go in and destroy everything they can. I applaud Putin for standing up to these NWO freaks.

Not "quite" true. It's not a lot, but it's about 25% of their small economy.

Exactly. This is the "New World Order" that Bush Sr. was talking about. The problem here, is it's something different from an actual government. There are no formal "rules", nothing like a "constitution" that anyone has to obey. What it's more like, is a "coalition of the willing". It's a bunch of people that aren't supposed to have this kind of power, but together they simply reach up and claim it, and exercise it as though it was their birthright.

And I can even positively guarantee you that "birthright" figures into it (or will) at some point.
