99.9% Certain, Trump Will Be Gone By September 1st

Trump's approval rating continues to crater down into middle earth.

President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are facing the lowest approval ratings since the inauguration, according to a new Fox News poll.

More than half of voters, 53 percent, disapprove of the job Trump is doing, compared to just 40 percent who approve. Pence's numbers are slightly higher, with a 42 percent approval rating and 43 percent disapproving.

Those numbers are a significant drop from their ratings in a similar Fox News poll last month. It found that 45 percent of voters approved of President Trump's job performance, and 50 percent approved of Pence's.

The approval numbers mirror how voters feel about the House GOP's latest effort to repeal ObamaCare, the poll shows. Forty percent of Americans approve of the Republican effort to replace the Affordable Care Act, while 53 percent are opposed. More than half of all voters, 53 percent, also said ObamaCare has so far been a net benefit for the country.

Adding to the pressure is the now-certain closure of the US government when the fiscal year opens on July 1st without a budget law in place. No SS checks to elders, no federal court activity at any level -- no paychecks for active duty US military, who are nonetheless almost the only US employees compelled to remain on the job. No US postal service. No federal student loan monies for students entering the Summer or Fall semesters of 2017. No federal funds transferred to states to fund the federal governments share of Medicaid, etc.

What a complete clusterfuck this will be, and there is ZERO hope that Trump's successor, whether it is Pence or Orrin Hatch, will be able to propose and pass a 2017/2018 budget before Halloween.

EDIT: The Federal GOvernment Fiscal YE is actually October 1st, but the bet with res below still stands. My apologies for the error!

BTW, since the government shutdown is so likely, you probably should consider and plan for its impact on your family. I explained to my loved ones this week what is coming, and many looked like this:

I'd be willing to take that bet. :)

What do you propose we wager?
I highly doubt that we will see impeachment proceedings against Trump by the end of the year.

I keep thinking that but I don't know. Its possible he could hang on. I do think a likely scenario either way is we will have all new people running in 2020 and its unlikely Trump or Pence could win the GOP nomination. All new people.

I don't know.....Nixon was in big trouble for MONTHS before he finally had to resign.

I think we're still at the "Summer 1973" stage with Trump...not the "Summer 1974" Stage.

But eventually it will come down to clear evidence that Trump Campaign staffers were having multiple collusive contacts with the Russians to coordinate Russian and Trump strategy against Clinton.....typically Russia's control over Assange and WikiLeaks....

and/or Congressional Republicans getting SICK AND TIRED of the constant DRAMA from Trump and his Inner Circle and deciding

"Pence will be weak...but he won't completely destroy the Party in 2018 and 2020"

....especially if they see internal polling showing a GOP disaster in the making for the '18 midterms.

You see a lot of "moves" to get on-camera by Lyin' Ted, Lil' Marco, and Ron Paul's Boy....

perhaps thinking of a Primary Challenge to President Trump in 2020.....or a Primary Challenge to "President PENCE" in 2020???

:)

O, no. I was unclear. I think Trump will announce some horrible, bizarre, utterly phoney left-wing plot against "his beloved family", resign and immediately flee to another country to lick his wounds. He has ZERO capacity to cope with criticism.

As for what we should bet? How about a donation of $10 to a charity of the winner's choosing?

Trump cannot survive the tsunami of public condemnation a full-scale US government shutdown will create, IMO.

Possible if he gets trapped up in the Russian stuff. He may also just decide enough and not run. Or it will be Trump/Pence being primaried by Kasich or Rubio. Either way I don't see Trump winning.
