Amnesty International is saying that the Trump policy of forcibly separating children from their parents constitutes torture, under both U.S. law and international law, and should be ended forthwith:

https://www.amnestyusa.org/press-re...ren-from-parents-is-nothing-short-of-torture/

Anyone who has heard the audio recordings of the children crying out in the 'detention centers' for their parents would be hard-pressed to disagree. I cannot say that I have ever heard a more heart-rending sound, in my entire life, and I am an old geezer at this point. Donald Trump could end all this with a phone call. He has made me ashamed of my own country.

Arizona Senator John McCain has issued a very clear statement calling on President Trump to end this sick policy, immediately:

McCain calls on Trump administration to reverse family separation policy

“The administration’s current family separation policy is an affront to the decency of the American people, and contrary to principles and values upon which our nation was founded,” the senator said in a tweet.

“The administration has the power to rescind this policy. It should do so now.”

Do people understand that Donald Trump is breaking the law here? Do they know that torture is against both American and international laws?

The act is awful, scary for families, and should stop. But, it's not torture.

Why these parents don't just go through a Port of Entry where separation does not happen is quite curious.
