I've heard a lot...

that differing from the 1973 and 1976 movies....the ROBOTS are the protagonists and are sympathetic.

Also heard that Evan Rachael Wood and Thandie Newton are good.....and that Thandie gets all KINDS of naked in it. :)

I've been watching it. It's pretty good, and yes, you do get a heaping helping of Thandie's boobs. ;)

I missed the finale last night due to family obligations.

Yes, the robots are for the most part the protagonists, but I wouldn't necessarily call all of them sympathetic.

A couple of standouts for me: Jeffrey Wright as Bernard. I've followed this guy for years and years, and I can't believe he's finally getting his due as an actor. If the name isn't familiar, he played Felix Leiter in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, with Danial Craig as 007. He's done a lot of other stuff as well, but he's a real standout in this series.

Ed Harris is deliciously evil as the man in black. And as libertariat says, Anthony Hopkins is a God in this show. There are enough plot twists to keep things interesting and at times surprising, but they don't just throw something in to deliberately fuck with, or piss off the audience. It all makes sense.

Great, believable acting performances, tightly plotted scripts - what more could you want out of a show? I give it 2 thumbs up. :eagerness: :eagerness:

Great candidate for a binge watch.

I like where they've gone with it (from the clips and what I've read)....that the robots are the protagonists, not the humans.

Some interesting ideas about consciousness raised too.
It's cerebral, and also has its fair share of action too. Anthony Hopkins as a "low-key Hannibal" is a good description. Just all the subtleties in his acting... he needs an Emmy for this.
