DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — An armed man who broke into an Apple store in Dallas was shot dead by a security guard early Tuesday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 8, the suspect attempted to break in to the Apple store on the 3100 block of Knox Street near McKinney Avenue. Police said a witness stated he was wearing full body armor and was armed with an assault rifle.

The suspect attempted to disarm the security guard — a retired Dallas police officer — but was unsuccessful. The security guard was able to pull his weapon and fired multiple times, striking the suspect.

The suspect — described as an adult black male — was taken to Baylor Medical Center, where he subsequently died.

The Dallas Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit is conducting an investigation.

Try reading the article linked in th OP.

It can sometimes help you avoid looking so silly for making such uninformed comments.

I did.
So, you tell me...
Where did the shooting happen?
What time of the day did it happen?
Was the store open for business and full of customers or was it closed for construction?

People who get an assualt rifle and put on body armor usually don't robs stores.

They go after people.

Maybe he forgot to write his manifesto a needed a phone to record it.

Weird... Why didn't he just shoot the guard right away, instead of trying to disarm him??? He had his own rifle, why did he need the guard's gun??? And even if he did, could have just taken it after shooting him...

Just strange. Makes no sense to me...

Either the dude had no idea what he was doing, maybe was actually scared to fire at about human being...

Or, it was an inside job, maybe the guard was in on the theft and let the guy in, in first place, but then they had a disagreement, over the spoils or whatever; maybe that one had put his rifle down before; while the guard started pulling his pistol on him, and they struggled over it?

That's really the only way this fits together, for me...
