Sir David Attenborough has launched a scathing attack on people in power who do not believe in climate change.

Speaking in front of the UK Parliament's British, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee on Tuesday, the famous documentary broadcaster said you "can't be radical enough" dealing with current climate problems.

"I'm sorry there are people who are in power internationally, notably of course the US, but also Australia, which is extraordinary because Australia is having to deal with some of the most extreme manifestations of climate change," he said.

"One hopes the electorate will respond to that."

He warned that failing to tackle the climate crisis would lead to great "social unrest".

"The problem you're opening now is a very serious one. If the world climate change goes on, it is going to be facing huge problems with immigration," he told MPs.

"Large parts of Africa are going to be even less inhabitable than they are now, and there will be major upsets in the balance between our national boundaries.

"These kind of problems are going to grow inexorably and we are going to have to decide what we do about it, that's going to happen."

However, he said he was hopeful for the future due to an upsurge in environmental activism by the young.

"The electorate of tomorrow are already making their voices very clear, that's a source of great comfort," he said.

"It's their futures that are in our hands."

Among Attenborough's suggestions was to make air travel expensive enough that the use of it is dramatically reduced.

There are no people in power who don't believe that human activity is causing our climate to heat up. There are people in power who publicly deny it, because they oppose the governmental policy changes that would be required to alleviate the problem. Concentrating efforts on those denials is a waste of time and resources, in my opinion. The denial isn't the problem -- it's merely a symptom. The lack of action is the real problem.

Probably some truth to that statement.

Can't say that human activity is the sole cause of the changes in climate we are seeing/experiencing. But the evidence certainly suggests we are undoubtedly contributing to it.

I don't know. I think Trump is just stupid enough to think that humans have no impact on the climate. We are talking about a guy who thinks that windmills cause cancer, and who thinks that America has 'the cleanest climate on the planet', whatever the fuck that would mean. For all I can tell, he genuinely believes global warming is a Chinese Communist mind control plot. No wonder the Russians, with their fossil fuel dependent economy, are so delighted to have him in charge of the United States. Much of our own lack of action stems from having him in the Oval Office. America's greenhouse gas emissions WERE declining.....up until 2017. Now, they have been rising in the past two years. Shrug.

You have to be a radical to want to fight climate change.

AGW is literally flat earth science. They use flat earth models to create flat earth energy flows and they generate projections that would be accurate if the earth was a plate in space, and the sun was an area light on the planet.

Are humans having an impact on the climate? Sure, a rounding error of impact, most of that impact is not from CO2, but a lot of what comes with burning fuels, the particulates, heavy metals, and similar. In other words, the issue is pollution, not co2.

It's not the government's place to tax businesses out of existence. Present your case to the people and let them decide if it merits restricting their lifestyles. The authoritarian approach isn't worth the cost in liberty.

Gee, you sure are a whole lot smarter than them there scientist fellers, ain't ya?
Probably not smarter. Just smart enough to not fall for a scam.

Bottom line; until there is a way to control barometric pressure, the idea of having any significant climate control is a pipe dream. A useful one if you want to scare people into climate taxes and similar scams.
