In all fairness, yesterday Sen. Sylvia Allen amended the bill, so "homosexuality" can be discussed. However, the list of prohibited subjects ... is worth a read.

The bill (which you can read here) is actually pretty funny, if it weren't for the fact that it's real. Look through the definitions on page two. Or, just search the legislation for the word "turgid." Or "Ultimate sexual acts." I'm not kidding.

According to the strikeouts, the original draft of the bill also allowed parents to opt students out of the section on AIDS education. The overall gist of the bill is to make sex-education an "opt-in" measure. Currently, parents can opt students out of sex ed; but this would prohibit such education unless the parents explicitly give their permission.

In 2015, she pushed a bill that would make church attendance compulsory for all Arizona residents.

Well in fairness.....if you know that your thread title is inaccurate....why did you post it?

And on a side note. Your link seems to need a fix. (which you can read here)

Educators have forgotten who they work for. These children do not belong to the state.
They don't "belong " to the parents either. They are individual human beings. They are entitled to an age appropriate understanding of issue that are part of the human experience and should be a part of a compete education. Many parents do a piss poor job dealing with sexual issues and without comprehensive sex ed., kids will get all sorts of misinformation from peers who know just as little.

Oh yes they do belong to the parents, at least until they're of legal age. Unless the parent is abusing the child, the state has no business there.

My own world
I always suspect people of being so against this sort of thing that they themselves tend to be in denial of their own sexual orientation. They believe you can turn gay simply because of choice perhaps because they are heterosexual simply because of choice.
