I don't understand, at ALL, why the United States did not press for her extradition to America! Thailand is an ally of the United States, not of Russia! I think it was possibly very important to get the information that this young woman had in her possession. And now we likely never will. I wonder if Robert Mueller was on top of this. It seems not.

One of these days, she might just suddenly vanish, never to be seen again.....
Supposedly, Thailand arrested her at Russia's behest... It is surprising, I never thought the relationship there was especially THAT close, for them to do such favors for Moscow...

But, they do have a military junta in power right now, don't they? Putin gets along fine with those types of regimes, certainly... lol

I suppose America had no CRIME to charge her with, so how could we press for her extradition?

But anyone who has been following this story should have KNOWN she would not be safe back in Russia! She was immediately SEIZED, and all the 'evidence' she had was destroyed.

I, frankly, wonder why she is still breathing, honestly...

My only explanation: her relationship with Deripaska actually WAS deeper than just as a weekend "escort" on his yacht. Maybe he really does still love her, and thus, he protected her, despite everything?

Would explain also her seemingly heartfelt apology in court too...

Moscow is a crazy place.... Like some bloody movie...

I worry about her safety. She may outlive her 'usefulness' at some point. And then......

This girl, Anastasia Vashukevich, from Belarus

was allegedly a mistress (or possibly high-end "escort") for Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska (the one whose companies Trump has now been fighting to de-sanction), she posted pics of herself with him on his yacht

Some of the pics reportedly featured a powerful Kremlin official (deputy Prime Minister of Russia, in fact) and got leaked to the media, causing somewhat of a scandal.

Last year, she got arrested in Thailand, along with others from Russia, for illegally hosting some kind of sex seminar or something

In March, she claimed to have some sort of tapes of Deripaska and Russian government officials that could shed light on Russia's interference in the US election; and would give them to the US in turn for political asylum or something: Escort Says Audio Recordings Show Russian Meddling in U.S. Election

The FBI reportedly even tried to question her about it in Thailand: FBI tried to contact 'sex coaches' in Thai jail

By the summer, though, she would no longer cooperate with the Americans and supposedly turned over whatever secret information she may have had back to Deripaska, or, at least she said she would: Exclusive: "Sex huntress” says she won’t give U.S. officials secret tapes about Russian election meddling

Yesterday, she and the others were deported from Thailand back to Moscow... where Miss Vashukevich and her companions were apparently taken away by Russian police straight from the airport:

It was a political arrest, for sure. Russia certainly has some influence on Thailand, at least, economic, through, for example, tourism. Thailand is a very popular for Russians.

Pattaya especially has a whole area basically where just Russian visitors stay, you would see restaurants and stores and other businesses with Russian signs everywhere there

:D

Lots of money, lots of jobs for Thai citizens there. Not something the Thai government would want to lose, should Russia declare Thailand unsafe or something. They did that with Egypt in 2015, after that airliner was blown up over Sinai. It hurt Egypt badly. Sissi was real glad when Putin recently re-authorized tourism to his country again...

Same for Thailand. Tourism is a huge part of their economy. Russia is a big source of that tourism for them. So, they must maintain good relations with Russia. Including arresting people on their soil when Russia asks, I guess...
