California's Facing More Rolling Blackouts, But Thank God They've Saved Us From Plastic Straws

No, you don't have to put up with them. Use the wood to heat your homes like people did for years.
Oh brother, some folks just are not interested in learning anything it seems. Do you expect us to thin chapparal and burn it in our homes? Ever walked through the hills in SoCal? Or up in Napa? There its a mixture of chapparal and some pines at the top. Throw in healthy doses of eukes that serve as torches, steep terrain, high winds, dry weather and you have a giant tinder box.

Gee. That will sure stop these fires. Of course ,cutting back the brush would be out of the question. Lib planning.
It is estimated that there are 127 million dead trees in california, 12 million have been removed.

Have conservatives figured out how to clear brush on the 19 million acres of FEDERAL land - a lot of it inaccessible?

Of the approximately 33 million acres of forest in California, federal agencies (including the USDA Forest Service and USDI Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service) own and manage 19 million acres (57%).

Yes it is.

Firefighters who have been on the job for decades have repeatedly expressed alarm about the changing behavior of fires, which have become more intense and less predictable, and the increasingly elongated fire season.

That season is now about 72 days longer than it was 30 years ago, according to Cal Fire.

Climate change deniers arent making it any better.

How about putting all the Homeless to work cutting back the Brush and building firebreaks? Decent pay,of course.
First youre going to have to get them in good physical condition, and then train them before sending them out to rake the forest floor in rugged, and sometimes inaccessible land. Of course the brush will have to be removed from the area - without roads how will that happen? Once on the job they'll need to be fed and housed.

Its hard to believe that adults can post drivel like this when people are in danger and lives are being turned upside down by fire and winds. Linking these fires with plastic straws is asinine. Grow up people.
Amazing isn't it? But then again it's the same people that have no problem putting children in cages and separating them form the parents. You know damn well if the shoe was on the other foot they'd be screaming bloody murder.

but wouldn't that mean being reasonable and talking about real solutions instead of just crying about "damn libruls?"

You must not live here so I will cut you some slack. There is no way in hell anyone can clear these forests, they are very, very dense. Fire is nature, its always been part of our ecosystem. We just want to live in fire areas so we have to put up with them. I have been through many big fires. They are scary. Our firefighters have to be the best in the world. My brother and sister were both evacuated in Healdsburg. I am kind of hoping her house burns down, it was built in the 50s.

Actually California used to clear the brush and undergrowth apparently you all felt that unimportant.
