I'd like to say this is peak capitalism, but I have no doubt that we can and will go even lower in our obsession with making those at the top ever richer at the expense of ordinary citizens. Sure you're all just one missed paycheck away from experiencing the same fate, but by God, that's the American way. It's what our parents and grandparents fought for in WWII.

Mom Janelle Lutgen says, “I miss him every day. I think about him every day. Football season was hard because that was what he loved the most.”

Lutgen says after her son died, she discovered he was rationing his insulin.

She says, “I went into his home, and I found no Humalog or test strips… which is what he’s supposed to take each time with his meals, and I had heard through the grapevine that he wasn’t able to afford his supplies because he had lost his job and didn’t have any insurance.”

This mom says she asks ANYONE who may be rationing insulin because of how high the cost is to PLEASE get help.

There is something about the current republican party that reminds me of 'Lord of the Flies" SAVAGES

Correction ...When I think how the Republican Party (the non Alt-Right - only a few years ago) decided they would do everything in their power to stop any and every Obama policy, I realize this has been going on for a long time. Calling it the current republican party is a complete lie.

I was watching a clip of when Trump was giving a speech with both Pence and Ryan stand behind him.Trump stated that he was going to finally get rid of that awful Obamacare...Pence and Ryan were so happy they even laughed. Sick

How to you get to the point where you feel entitled to all the privileges in the world and smugly question why anyone would question or disagree? Basically they are hunting us down and having a good time doing it.. They have turned into full fledged savages.

You think that is bad? What about Steve Scalise after having his life saved by the best Health care in the world came on the House floor claiming God saved him! Not a word about the Doctors and Nurses!

Next time I saw him he was in front of the WH laughing proudly they just voted to take health care away from millions!

That, is sleaze! 36D337CB-F062-4BCE-AD58-FFB691A6FAC5.jpeg

It's not just the Republicans. They're just the most blatant about it. Democrats are just as guilty of selling our Democracy to the highest campaign contributors. The problem is, we tend to give the Dems a pass because they're not actively trying to curtail the rights of women and minorities. Under Democratic leadership, you'll still die if you can't afford your insulin, but at least you'll be able to pee in the proper restroom until you do.

The republican party preaches intolerance to their sheep until they can't reason out the goal comes from the very wealthy in order to have an angry population. Yes, some people want to rule the world For them to have more, they have to take from you and that is exactly what we have with the republian party

Intolerant to accept taxes, intolerance to even think they would contribute to Universal Health, intolerance of some one speaking Spanish, Intolerant of the color of some peoples skin...etc.

How do you change intolerance? You can't it's connected to an inability to change your beliefs. This is why this country that cannot cure itself...this is never going to go away.

I am getting to like
No, I absolutely love the idea of America becoming a full blown Socialist country - the government running every profitable company out there and using that profit to support health care, safety nets and housing. We need to replace this sick out of control crap called capitalism - it's a cancer on society..

Agreed... to an extent. I don't know about the government owning everything exactly, I'm not quite there yet myself, but capitalism has definitely failed most of us. Conditions are ripe in this country for massive change (for better or worse), and the more the right radicalizes itself, the more the left also radicalizes itself in self-defense.

If some of you think I'm radical, you haven't seen anything yet. I'm the voice of restraint among a lot of my friends.

Don't forget who threw the first brick at Stonewall, and civility was never a part of that equation. People with nothing left to lose who are fighting for their survival fight the hardest. Now you've got the internet connecting us all together so we know what's happening all around the country, and can connect with each other across great distances in an instant.

It remains to be seen if that change will come about peaceably or not, or what kind of system we will end up with when the dust has finally settled.

I heard someone on television saying that "reducing health care costs" was on the agenda for the Democrats. The first thing I thought is "to who's benefit?"

Reducing healthcare costs... for insurance companies who contribute to their campaigns. People are getting sick of the Democrats' lies as well. Time and again they promise us everything we are asking for, and every goddamned time they remain loyal to their corporate masters.

Big change is coming. One way or another. For better or worse. Get ready, because this situation is completely unsustainable.

The first step is Medicare for those 50 and above. Pelosi agreed to that. Next step infrastructure.

It will be fun to watch Senate Republicans fight that after watching this election, knowing they are coming up in 2020.

And I betcha Trump would love to sign both.

That's all well and good, but it's not those over 50 who have grown up never knowing life without being at war, who have never experienced a year without multiple high profile mass shootings, who are looking at a future several decades long with no jobs, no affordable housing, and no hope. Modern, well-paved roads don't mean shit when you don't have a car, a job, or any expectation of anything other than abject poverty for the rest of your life.

It's not the over 50 crowd they should be worried about.

To say nothing of the 6 - 8 billion people who don't live in the US who are getting sick of us sucking up all the resources and dumping out global life-threatening levels of carbon while providing very little in return except for toppling governments we don't like and installing dictators.
