It's not just the Republicans. They're just the most blatant about it. Democrats are just as guilty of selling our Democracy to the highest campaign contributors. The problem is, we tend to give the Dems a pass because they're not actively trying to curtail the rights of women and minorities. Under Democratic leadership, you'll still die if you can't afford your insulin, but at least you'll be able to pee in the proper restroom until you do.
I've always said the biggest difference between the parties is that the Dems at least try to mitigate against the policies that we're forced to live under because they legislate for big money and big business against the average person. The GOP doesn't even acknowledge that their legislation harms average Americans so they certainly don't do anything alleviate the harm.

The republican party preaches intolerance to their sheep until they can't reason out the goal comes from the very wealthy in order to have an angry population. Yes, some people want to rule the world For them to have more, they have to take from you and that is exactly what we have with the republian party

Intolerant to accept taxes, intolerance to even think they would contribute to Universal Health, intolerance of some one speaking Spanish, Intolerant of the color of some peoples skin...etc.

How do you change intolerance? You can't it's connected to an inability to change your beliefs. This is why this country that cannot cure itself...this is never going to go away.

I am getting to like
No, I absolutely love the idea of America becoming a full blown Socialist country - the government running every profitable company out there and using that profit to support health care, safety nets and housing. We need to replace this sick out of control crap called capitalism - it's a cancer on society..
Intolerence is a step by step procedure one person at a time. I know I have changed my mind over the years-as I learned new facts.

Mostly it is ignorance, lack of facts, propaganda. You have to think for yourself. But bigotry will never go away.

That's all well and good, but it's not those over 50 who have grown up never knowing life without being at war, who have never experienced a year without multiple high profile mass shootings, who are looking at a future several decades long with no jobs, no affordable housing, and no hope. Modern, well-paved roads don't mean shit when you don't have a car, a job, or any expectation of anything other than abject poverty for the rest of your life.

It's not the over 50 crowd they should be worried about.

To say nothing of the 6 - 8 billion people who don't live in America who are getting sick of us sucking up all the resources and dumping out global life-threatening levels of carbon while providing very little in return except for toppling governments we don't like and installing dictators.
I said it was a first step. They will be fixing the mistakes of the ACA that need fixing.

Keep in mind Nancy Pelosi and Democrats made a first step that presidents in both parties have tried to get for 80 years. The Democrats gave SS,, Medicare. So putting Democrats in the same funny farm with Republicans is not true.

I remember poor farms for the elderly.

There is not one program you and your parents appreciate that was not given to you by Republicans!

Keep that in mind.

Now, my Dressing, Cranberry sauce, Peanut butter pie and fixings for gravy is in the trunk. I am off for a 50 minute drive so everyone enjoy Family and Friends.:)

It is true, the only difference is a matter of degree. Democrats don't want to discriminate against LGBT because they're ideal consumers, and they consistently vote for the Dems as the clear lesser of two evils. Republicans are just hilariously short-sighted in that regard. Or it would be hilarious if they didn't get off so much on promoting rhetoric that gets us killed.

The Democrats don't give a fuck about us (us meaning all of us, not just LGBT) except for however much money we have to spend at the corporations that support them, because that's where the real money and power comes from. Look at the display of bootlicking that occurred while Amazon was looking for a new headquarters. Local and state governments were falling all over themselves each trying to be the one to screw their state out of the most taxes and labor protection possible. Oh, but they also had to have plenty of upscale sanitized shopping areas and ritzy neighborhoods nearby so the executives only had to interact with the common folk as little as possible.

Reducing healthcare costs... for insurance companies who contribute to their campaigns. People are getting sick of the Democrats' lies as well. Time and again they promise us everything we are asking for, and every goddamned time they remain loyal to their corporate masters.
This anti-insurance company rhetoric just doesn't cut it anymore, not in the age of Obamacare. Obamacare put in place a lot of limits to the manner in which insurance companies can control costs, and it restricted the amount of their revenue they can spend on themselves and their own operations.

Any system we have is going to require utilization review and cost-sharing. It's even common for governments to contract with insurance companies to provide utilization review and related oversight on behalf of the state for its Medicaid and Medicare beneficiaries. Why? Because insurance companies are already fully tooled to be able to review standards and requirements, root out fraud, and make sure the care provided meets the requirements for care that is covered by the insurer. So governments go out to competitive bidding for contracts to private insurance companies to do the government's utilization review for it. Why? To control costs. Meaning to control total health spending.

The system is rotten to the core, but it can be navigated. It's no wonder that some 20-something's main goal is to make a lot of money, any way possible. It's part of the environment we live in and making a lot of money in this environment is survival. If you aren't then you will be less likely to survive. As sad as that is to some, it's reality. Adapt or else (that's the reality, not my sentiment).

They are just straigh up assholes. richest country in the world (well, maybe not anymore) and we have ridiculous rates of poverty, people are working themselves to death, shitty education, no healthcare, spend all our money killing brown people across the world for provide, while the rich pay very little in taxes and take all the wealth and make all the policy.

And amazingly we have right wing idiots that support and defend this bullshit

I don't blame anyone for protecting and amassing wealth. It's only second to having teeth, air and water with regard to survival.
