Great... Mao on the toilet...

Sigh...

That's why if you look even at Russia, all the statues of favorite leaders, like Peter the Great, he is always standing

Standing tall, erect, back straight, exuding strength and power.

If he ain't standing, he is astride on his horse

The last one, in Mikhailovsky Garden in St. Petersburg, is my personal favorite. Makes him look like a bloody Roman Emperor, which is exactly what the bastard wanted lol Guy was so full of himself... Great Tsar, in his way, but so fucking full of himself...

But, anyway, yeah, leaders always stand. Same for Ekaterina/Catherine II

or Lenin

lol

It just looks better that way. At least, I always thought so...

I'm surprised these statutes exist. Didn't Stalin tear them down?
Why destroy historic beauty? Anyway, it is said he was a great admirer of Ivan the Terrible and Peter too. Two brutal assholes, just like him, why wouldn't he like them? :D

EDIT: the very first one is new, put up in the 90s

One of the tallest monuments in the world. Some people see it as an eyesore lol

The formerly great golden state
Build a monument to the leader people associate with famine, and they ridicule it and tear it down.

Sounds like a rational response to me.
