Rahm Emanuel follows failing California, launches new voter ID available for illegals in Chicago

Another progressive idea to benefit illegals. The concern is will it be valid ID for voting. Lot of contention here. Obviously democrats want that ability.

The alderman pointed out that Chicago — a sanctuary city — will protect illegal immigrants by not keeping background information applicants offer to establish a home address.
This way, federal immigration agents can’t use the data to track down those in the country illegally.

Chicago, much like, the Oakland mayor who shields illegals from ICE raids. Immigration laws are being undermined by more & more democrat policies.

Hard to imagine why blue collar American democrats can support democrat policies and their leadership. Don't they realize they are disposable as illegals and immigrants are the democrats leadership people of choice.

The OP article states that the state official stated that a person does not need to prove a person is a citizen to register to vote.

If that is true that the official in fact said that, then anyone can vote...with or without a "City-Card".

The cards intent is to provide city services to those that do not have traditional ID. Voting is not part of the intent.

There is nothing on the City card web site that says anything about voting.

This is interesting -

The CityKey cards are being praised as a valid form of identification for people voting in Chicago and for those registering to vote — even though it remains illegal for undocumented immigrants to vote.

In a letter sent to aldermen last week, City Clerk Anna Valencia cited state election rules to explain why the card will be accepted, the paper reported — Valencia heads up the CityKey program.

“The Illinois Election Code requires the Board of Elections to accept current, valid photo identification cards and other local governmental documentation that includes an individual’s name and address, as proof of identity and residency,” the clerk said in the letter. “The CityKey fits both of these requirements.”

Sound as if anyone getting the CityKey card, will be able to use the ID to register to vote.

Protecting and aiding criminals is against the law these politicians should go to jail. Once again the democrats show they put party above this country and the law
