Climate Change is a fad.

The US population has always been prone to fads. In 1958 the Wham-o toy company Made a killing on Hula Hoops. Purportedly, enterprising entrepreneurs bent a plastic tube into a circular shape and stapled it at one end. It was a hit; everyone had to have one. The device quickly took the US by storm and adults from coast to coast, ranging from the ordinary to the sophisticated, were fervently twirling and spinning the simple gadget to a fever pitch.

The elementary apparatus ignited a craze that rapidly spread worldwide. What is seldom reported is that while Americans were wildly preoccupied with outdoing each other with their Hula Hoops, the Russians were putting satellites into orbit. Did the Russians play a role in the dissemination of the toy? We’ll probably never know.

That was sixty-plus years ago and up until recently a possible enemy distraction of such massive proportions had not occurred again. But a new player has emerged-human-induced climate change. The ridiculousness of encouraging people to blame their neighbors for the weather is not without precedent. Entire populations were wiped out by other populations in ancient wars to ensure good crops with ample rainfall. All that is needed is a reasonably superficial argument that other people are causing bad weather.

What’s particularly alarming about the fad of anthropogenic climate change is the number of money-grubbing “experts” that have hitched their wagons to it. When experts are being payed to push a narrative, their status as experts is as tainted as the Tobacco Industry’s studies on cigarette use.

In addition, older Americans remember when schools banned Hula hoops from the grounds as threats to student attention. Today tax-addicted Teacher’s unions are involved in brainwashing students to climate change ideology because it will generate taxation oppression of the people-follow the money.

You don’t have to be a genius to figure out that while Americans are spying and dropping a dime on fellow Americans for using plastic straws, the Chinese are quietly and methodically preparing to take over the world. In a world where our grandchildren gaze vacuously into screens made of Chinese technology, the outlook is not optimistic.

We don’t want to make the mistake of trading Hula Hoops for Sputniks again. American social media giants are already colluding with the Chinese to surveil Chinese populations and it will ensnare us as well if we are not vigilant.

Climate changes on its own; the Chinese know that and so should we.

I dare you to go to Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Houston and a number of other places and try to convince them this denial, demonstrates anything, but that those presenting it have the intelligence of a rock.

Never in the history of the planet has there been more than 7 billion people on it, along with the exponential growth of human population and all human activity.

Apparently fossil fuel companies cannot "afford" to change over to alternative and renewable forms of energy, but the general population can afford billions, perhaps trillions in losses, in property and business operation, as well as loss of life.

"On the Internet, flamebait is a "posting" or note on a Web site discussion forum, an online bulletin board, a Usenet newsgroup, or other public forum that is intended to elicit the extremely strong responses characteristic of flaming and active public discussions. To be effective, flamebait should be a bit subtle (but not too subtle) so that potential flamers will "take the bait." This term is similar to troll, which is an effort to get a reaction from readers but not necessarily for the purpose of eliciting flames."

I think the ship has sailed for the denier machine. At this point, “debating” with the holdouts is a waste of time and even counter productive. The idea that the multi-million dollar fossil fuel funded denier propaganda machine is not part of a conspiracy is pure lunacy.

And they are brainwashing our children... The sky is falling ... My grandkids are so scared they are going to be gone in 12 years.
The scare tactic about climate started at least in the 70's and it's always 10-20 years out.

Now that we know pollution is harmless, let's lower emission standards, encourage littering and dumping of toxic chemicals in our waterways and serve school kids coal ash on Friday's instead of fish.

Yay! Fossil fuels rock so hard!!!
Pollution and AGW are separate topics.

Nobody is advocating for more pollution. Co2 is better defined as a nutrient, btw.

You can’t just explain it? How hard is it just give the basic outline of the “conspiracy”?
What part explained would suffice?

- that it's flat earth science
- that the models have been wrong an order of magnitude more than right
- that the small scale objectively observable data disproves the premise
- that the IPCC head has stated that it's notabout the environment, but redistribution of wealth

There are so many ways that the climate fraud can be demonstrated it's something if a joke at this point.

It's ironic to see people getting so worked up about China wanting to take over the world while also spending their time trashing the scientific and technological expertise that's the only thing standing between us and China taking over the world. While the US government is busy ignoring global warming, China and Europe are getting ready to deal with it.
China is not so great at creating new inventions as they are at copying something that's been made already. Their strategic positioning can't be ignored though.

If these smart people went into a real science, then they would have to deal with replicateable results and scientific integrity and all that.

It's hilarious when people engage in flame bait while playing victim to it.

Anyway, renewable energy performances (with geographical exceptions) are simply not viable for grid scale production. We can get into the physics of why that is if you like.

Its counter productive because the climate cult is a losing argument. It needs to be false appeals like the myth of the 97% consensus, which, even if true is still meaningless.

I can't help but feel that everybody is missing the key point of this thread - that hula hoops were apparently a Soviet black op intended to distract budding American rocket scientists from achieving their true potential.

Amazing, the things you can learn here.

Climate alarmism is the biggest modern day science fraud. A handful of scientists produced data and models, gullibles copied and pasted this bad data. As time passed, the flaws are appearing in the data and models and actual distortion of the data to fit this climate hoax.

The climate changes because of the sun, earth and nature; not by man.

Go on YouTube and type in, "Climate data flawed" and you can find out how the manipulation of data has been used to create this alarmism.

Let's have a PAYG society. Those who support the climate hoax should go on a register and when the government want $xxx in climate tax funds, each one on this register pays a share.
