Nah. First of all, that's a current problem we can do something about in the present moment. Second, someone already took dibs, which means it's not a game anymore.
Trump accepting responsibility is just the adult thing to do in that meeting. The true reason for any shutdown will be a lack of compromise on both sides of the equation.

Democrats have already compromised. Trump is making the continued operation of the US government contingent on his getting his whim. I don't think the GOP will stand behind him. He might find very early in January that a spending bill has passed both Houses and it will be up to him to veto it. Will he do that? Foolish move.

If Americans were solidly behind this and thought it was urgent, it would already be done.

Democrats won't compromise on not funding the wall, trump won't compromise on funding it. That's the truth.
