Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is facing criticism after Democrats invited anti-Israel Imam Omar Suleiman to deliver the invocation at the opening of the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday.

Suleiman, who gave the invocation on the occasion of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, was invited by Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX). He delivered the invocation as Pelosi looked on, stressing themes of peace and unity.

Despite the ecumenical spirit of Suleiman’s prayer, the Jerusalem Post noted that Suleiman is “known for his Israel-bashing antics.” It provided an extensive list of examples.

Another clear example of the Democrat Party's Anti-Semitism.

Thus, driving more of the Jewish vote, and more of the "reasonable person of any faith vote" away from the Dems.

If the Repubs had done something like this they would be slammed for it.

And, rightfully so...
The Democrat Party has alway been the party of racism and Anti-Semitism.

It just seems they didn't use to be so open about it.

The "anti-Israel" examples are fairly tame.

* Masjid Al Aqsa - While both Muslims and Jews are usually permitted to pray at this mosque, periodically prohibits Muslims from entering. Protesting this isn't wholly unreasonable.
* Zionism - Usually defined as Israel expansion; lots of people (including many Israeli Jews) are critical of Israeli expansion.
* Protesting the embassy move to Jerusalem - This is political; not antisemitic. I also think moving the embassy was a shitty, unproductive decision.

He said nothing suggesting the nation of Israel as a whole was illegitimate, nor did he say anything about Jews - other than that the city should not "belong" to people of one religious faith.

Keep reaching - and pretending that Israeli Jews are like U.S. Jews.

It is really quite strange that ANY person of the Jewish faith is a Democrat. Obama couldn't be bothered to get around to a trip to Israel into his second term. Trump went to Israel on his first trip overseas. Obama promised to move the embassy, and didn't. Trump promised it, and delivered.

An imam who has wished for the end of Zionism, called for a third Intifada and likened Israel to Nazi-era Germany delivered the opening prayer for a session of the US House of Representatives on Thursday.

Omar Suleiman, the founder and president of the Dallas-based Yaqeen Institute, an organization that describes itself as a resource about Islam, referred to recent attacks on houses of worship — which has included synagogues in the United States — in his opening remarks.

“Let us not be deterred by the hatred that has claimed the lives of innocent worshipers across the world, but emboldened by the love that gathered them together to remember you and gathered us together to remember them,” Suleiman said in a short prayer after being introduced by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat.

Suleiman has a long record of incendiary social media statements about Israel, as compiled two years ago by Petra Marquardt-Bigman, a researcher, and posted on the Algeimeiner Jewish news site. He has on multiple occasions wished for a third Palestinian Intifada, or violent uprising, likened Israeli troops to Nazis, and has wished for the end of Zionism, calling Zionists “the enemies of God.” He is a backer of the boycott Israel movement.

Here; simple question:

Do you believe it is possible to be critical of Israeli government policy (or Israeli leadership) without being antisemitic?
Of course.

Do you believe it's possible to be critical of B. Hussein without being called a racist?

And yet 71% of Jews voted Democratic and 32 of 34 Jews in Congress are Democrats. What does that tell you about your fucked up ideology? Your whiny pandering to Netanyahu has done nothing for your parties American Jewish vote.
