Scientists are human beings just like you and me. Where do you that they only care about themselves? Did you think that a study of the sciences leads to selfishness?
Yes because the main purpose of some that follow science is to prove others wrong. Its self serving and leads to people being non compassionate for others. Ever hear of a science group helping the community? I never have.

Are you still defining God as a supernatural entity?

This is wrong in multiple ways. Scientists gather information, make observations, compose a theory, and test and replicate it. If any scientists are making blind guesses, they aren't using the Scientific Method correctly.

A different valid theory?

You don't know nearly as much as scientists have discovered. Your religion still doesn't know anything.

That lacks so much context we can hardly even discuss it. What if we loved the wrong person? The people of Germany loved Hitler. Do fascist states benefit mankind?

This logical fallacy is Amazing Familiarity. You're basing your argument on data that is impossible to obtain. How on Earth do you know most people who support science are self-centered alien turds? Did you travel the world doing field research on the personal views of scientists? Who has the time, money and energy to do that?

Amazing Familiarity

Again, that is Amazing Familiarity. See the link above. How could you possibly know if all or most scientists are selfish or not? In fact, scientists for UNICEF helped distribute Polio vaccines for dying children in poor parts of the world, and Al Qaeda worked hard at resisting them. Dietitians are scientists. The Chinese dietitian, Hu Sue Hui (I think that's how you spell it) discovered deficiency diseases, which helped lower, if not eliminate, the number of people with Rickets.

You also make the fallacy, Begging the Question. You make a circular argument based on your prejudicial preconceived conclusion. You say "I know scientists are selfish because I can imagine selfish behavior that can only be described as that of scientists." You make the same fallacy when you blame atheists for crime and community decadence.

Begging the Question
Show me a science group that is helping the community, the poor, by feeding them, those that need help in disasters. Post pictures and stories of science groups helping people. Prove me wrong

You're quite mad, do you know that? It is scientists who have developed the vaccines that have saved MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of lives, for example, by wiping smallpox out of the world----smallpox, down through the ages, killed more human beings than any other single AGENT. It is scientists who brought about the 'Green Revolution' that prevented large-scale famines in Asia following World War II. It is the general advancement of science that has raised the standard of living of humanity and extended our lifespans, almost DOUBLING our life expectancy in the 20th century alone. It is science that has done all this, while your wacky theologians wasted huge amounts of intellectual effort in utterly fruitless arguments over how many angels could dance on the head of a pin.

Today, through the power of science, we routinely force trillions of electrons to dance to our commands in areas much smaller than the head of a pin, in the transistors that power our Information Age, and allow us to share our thoughts on the Internet, just as we are doing, right at this moment.

No, I agree, as there are clues that suggest the gospels were written after 70 AD (even the Jerusalem Bible acknowledges this point) and probably before 100 AD. The unknown authors probably never met him as he was executed sometime between 29 & 36 AD.
Luke's Gospel Was Written Earlier

If Acts were written about A.D. 62, then this helps us date the gospels, since the Book of Acts is the second half of a treatise written by Luke to a man named Theophilus. Since we know that the gospel of Luke was written before the Book of Acts, we can then date the Gospel of Luke sometime around A.D. 60 or before.

The Brother Who Was Well-Known May Have Been Luke

There may be further evidence for an early date for Luke's gospel. Paul wrote of a brother who was well-known among the churches for the gospel.

And we have sent along with him the brother whose fame in the gospel has spread through all the churches (2 Corinthians 8:18).
There is ancient testimony that this refers to Luke and his written gospel. If this is speaking of Luke and the gospel he composed, then we have it well-known in the mid-fifties of the first century.

Mark May Have Been A Source For Luke

There may be a reference in the writings of Luke that he used Mark as a written source. John Mark is called a "minister" by Luke in Acts 13:5 (the Greek word huparetas). In 1:2, Luke says he derived the information for his gospel from those who were "eyewitnesses" and "ministers" of the word. The term translated "minister" is the same Greek word huparetas. It is possible that this could be a reference to Mark as one of his written sources.

Mark Was Likely Written Before Luke

Furthermore, modern scholarship has generally assumed that the Gospel of Mark was written before Luke. If this is the case, then we are somewhere in the fifties of the first century when this book was composed. Since Jesus' death and resurrection occurred approximately in the year A.D 33, these two gospels were written during the time when eyewitnesses, both friendly and unfriendly, were still alive. These eyewitnesses could either verify or falsify the information contained in the gospels.

Matthew Was Always Believed To Have Been Written First

We now go a step further by considering Matthew's gospel. According to the unanimous testimony of the early church Matthew was the first gospel written. The church father Eusebius places the date of Matthew's gospel in A.D. 41. If this is true, then we have a third independent source about the life of Christ written during the eyewitness period.

John Was An Eyewitness To The Events

The Gospel of John is usually assumed to have been the last of the four gospels composed. John testified that he was an eyewitness to the events that he recorded.

Many other signs therefore Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name John (20:30:31).
When Were the Four Gospels Written? Jesus was crucified in 33AD, the book of Mathew was written down in 41AD, 8 years after. All of these authors were eyewitnesses of Christ.

I won't deny we live in good times when it comes to stopping some diseases and in some instances curing them. We have a big hurricane coming up on the Carolina's. What are science supporters doing to help those people being displaced from that storm?

Before the development of science, people wouldn't have even KNOWN there was a hurricane coming!!
