Barely Half of the F-35 Fleet Is Flight-Ready

Though they hope to eventually get it up to 75%

The early batches of the planes already need upgrading.

"concurrency," got us into this mess of buying planes that were not fully developed.

I hope we don't deploy these planes along hurricane prone coasts.
I guess Aircraft are like cars. Probably not good to buy the 1st ones right off the Assy line. Probably good to wait until at least the 3rd or 4th year after the first line rolled out to get all the bugs out LOL.

Too late.

Eglin AFB is in the Florida panhandle.

Beaufort MCAS S.C. is also close to the coast.

Maybe some of the overseas bases, too.

Belgium chooses to buy the F-35 over the Eurofighter.

According to Reuters, the decision came down to price.

Not a really big customer, they are planning to buy 34.

That's about a $4.5 Billion deal.

Thanks Trump!

Absolutely good news.

Belgium joins NATO allies Britain, Netherlands, Italy, and Turkey in going with the F-35.

So far, so good...
Not good news for Typhoon and Gripen sales. Certainly easier to integrate forces when all playing with the same toys. Stealth will gain a higher priority as time goes on.
