Somewhere they can't find me.
I mean what is the point of that? Reports are they buried him. No one can go there and even TALK to them, much less be allowed to go dig up a body.............they need to just let it go.

Absolutely agree with you here.

They won't be allowed because these people have made it clear they do not want others on their island, and the dead zealot knew that when he went there. There's simply no way now to retrieve his body without winding up with several dead police and a lot of dead tribespeople.

They should just leave these people alone.

They don't speak English. They don't have cell phones. They don't have internet. They don't have lawyers. They don't have ID's.

They rely on third parties for protection, whether they're aware of it or not. This entitled bozo went in to swing his religious dick in the native's back yard in violation of several laws and plain common sense.

Not only do I have no sympathy, I'm glad the islanders exercised their rights to defend themselves from this jackass. He would have killed them all with his entitlement, and his attempt to ingratiate himself with his God at the expense of a few poor natives that haven't accepted White Jesus as their savior. Fuck him.
But the us does it all the time -- at a global scale.

You are getting riled over hypocrisy.

Lots of people go to harm's way on no other reason than duty. Soldiers and police come to mind.

Are you saying they are also stupid?

duh?
Going to that island wasn’t the idiots job. It wasn’t a career. He went to a place he was warned about to do something the tribe didn’t want or need. He was killed as a result...which makes him a dumbass.

He did so on a sense of duty.

In this regard, how is the soldier going to war in a foreign land any different, hmmm?

His sense of duty was overruled by his hubris, leading to false martyrdom. He was an arswhole waiting for flatulent followers

Well, first off the soldier is doing a job that is deemed necessary by a large portion of the country he or she is serving. Going to a remote island to irritate natives that have no need for what he was pushing isn’t protecting an entire country is it, hmmm?

What????

Your forefathers went to remote places to bring 'civilization' and pax americana to them. And they conducted wars for that purpose. This missionary did the same thing, except he didn't intend to kill anyone.

So, how are the two different?

duh?
