What exactly is implausible about it? The facts seem to be lining up behind it.
The craziness of of the affair(s) is overtly apparent. I'm still not willing to believe (yet) that Petraeus would quietly allow the Administration to "destroy the credibility" of the military. In fact the Pentagon en mass would be up in arms (this story has the potential to be a real pun generator) if that is what the Admin is trying to do. There is no benefit to the Administration in this. I think they are a bit in shock over this and haven't formed an opinion. If anything Petraeus is seen as a Republican. This all occurred before Benghazi so its not a cover up for that. Unfortunately we may have to wait and see what the investigation turns up and I am cynical enough to think we'll probably be told what to think on this by the CIA in cooperation with State and the Administration. I believe Amb Stevens was playing a dangerous game Ambassador's usually don't play and was compromised.

Natalie Khawam, Kelley's identical twin sister, lives with the Kelleys in Tamp, Business Insider reports. Khawam is a lawyer in Tampa who is "currently embroiled in a nasty lawsuit with her former employer, whom she has accused of sexual harassment and other charges. The employer has fought back with court documents claiming Khawam has a 'history of abusing the litigation process.'" Khawam owes $3.2 million in unpaid debt. In her custody fight, the New York Post reports, Khawam took her child to Florida when he was four months old after a fight with the child's father, Grayson Wolfe, who couldn't see the kid for more than a year. The judge gave full custody to Wolfe, told Khawam to pay $350,000 in legal feels, and cited her for “outrageous conduct,” “bad faith litigation tactics,” and “illogical thinking." Given that Khawam has a background that's not without controversy, it's interesting to read Petraeus and Allen attest to her character in court documents.

The custody fight was going on this year. Petraeus' letter to the Tampa court was written within the last two months.

Grayson Wolfe was the one who filed for divorce, three years ago. Three years ago, would put right around '09 someplace, which is Obama's first year, which is while Petraeus' star was rapidly rising.

If You Were Saying to Yourself, ‘This Petraeus Scandal Isn’t Crazy Enough …’ : The Other McCain

And one must assume that since both Petraeus and Grayson Wolfe were in Iraq, they must have known each other, probably even interacted with each other while they were there.

bwah ha ha -

That judge also found that Khawam routinely defied court orders to let the child see his dad and sent harassing e-mails to Wolfe’s friends and business partners that “excoriated Mr. Wolfe for being a horrible father and husband.”
So like, one day when Natalie's pissed off at her sister, she gets a call from Paula Broadwell.

"Hey Natalie, would you show me how to send a secret e-mail?"

It isn’t the affair itself that gives us more information, but the affair bringing attention to words spoken by Broadwell in Denver on October 26. She said the CIA was holding prisoners at the annex in Benghazi and Fox News has confirmed with another source this was the case.

This explains two things. The U.S. consulate in Benghazi was being repeatedly attacked because prisoners were being held and because President Obama signed an executive order in 2009 banning secret CIA prisons, they had to find an alternative story to cover-up what really happened, hence the YouTube video.
Yep. There it is.

This definitely explains the administration's behavior. It also explains "why Benghazi".

Of course, CIA spokesman Preston Golson said "any suggestion that the agency is still in the detention business is uninformed and baseless."

On Oct 26 Paula Broadwell said:

“Now I don’t know if a lot of you heard this, but the CIA annex had actually — had taken a couple of Libyan militia members prisoner and they think that the attack on the consulate was an effort to try to get these prisoners back. So that’s still being vetted.”
The evacuating Americans allegedly turned over the three prisoners to the "Libyan authorities".

So now it seems, there are two possibilities:

a) the Obama administration was violating its own executive order
b) someone in the CIA went rogue

As if he has some kind of power to stop it.

Patraeus WAS head of the CIA. And the "consulate house" in Benghazi was a CIA safe house. So it's entirely possible that Patraeus knew something embarrassing or damaging about the operations in Benghazi. In fact, he may be guilty of something terrible. Yeah, general. You'll take your job in Princeton and keep your mouth shut and you'll like it.

You're not willing to believe it yet because it goes against your narrative. This is normalcy bias at work.

If anything Petraeus is seen as a Republican.
Yes. Maybe a contender for 2016. He had to be taken out.

This all occurred before Benghazi so its not a cover up for that.
And Patraeus threw the administration under the bus when he said, "The order to stand down did NOT come from anyone in the CIA." Benghazi merely provided the ripe opportunity to take him out. The administration had dirt on him from the beginning. In fact, that may be why he was chosen for DCIA--he could be useful at the same time he can be controlled. And when he has outlived his usefulness he could be taken out. Any honorable whistle blowing would be silenced by the dirt they have on him.

Crazy? This kind of crap happens all the time.

Paula Broadwell moonlighted as a gun model. Paula Broadwell Moonlighted As A Gun Model - Business Insider

Jill Kelley has hired Abbe Lowell to represent her (Lowell represented Bill Clinton in his impeachment hearings). She's also hired crisis PR expert Judy Smith, who previously represented Monica Lewinsky, Larry Craig, and Michael Vick. Why? She hasn't been accused of anything, hasn't been charged with anything, in fact so far as far as anyone knows, she has nothing to do with any of this. :glee:

John Brennan allegedly learned of Petraeus' affair with Paula Broadwell in the summer of 2011, six months before Boylan claims it started, and before Petraeus was named as d-CIA.

In the original Oct. 26 Fox News report, sources at the annex said that the CIA’s Global Response Staff had handed over three Libyan militia members to the Libyan authorities who came to rescue the 30 Americans in the early hours of Sept. 12.
A well-placed Washington source confirms to Fox News that there were Libyan militiamen being held at the CIA annex in Benghazi and that their presence was being looked at as a possible motive for the staged attack on the consulate and annex that night.

According to multiple intelligence sources who have served in Benghazi, there were more than just Libyan militia members who were held and interrogated by CIA contractors at the CIA annex in the days prior to the attack. Other prisoners from additional countries in Africa and the Middle East were brought to this location.

The Libya annex was the largest CIA station in North Africa, and two weeks prior to the attack, the CIA was preparing to shut it down. Most prisoners, according to British and American intelligence sources, had been moved two weeks earlier.
Fox News has since confirmed this information with its source, which it does not name but labels as "well placed".

This information could definitely have cost Obama the election.

IMO.

The CIA compound in Benghazi was a black-hole prison the CIA was supposed to close. The CIA somewhat denies that it held prisoners there:
The CIA, though, categorically denied these allegations, saying: “The CIA has not had detention authority since January 2009, when Executive Order 13491 was issued. Any suggestion that the agency is still in the detention business is uninformed and baseless.”

The CIA is correct in that the Executive Order 13491 (pdf) denies it detention authority:

Sec. 4. (a) CIA Detention. The CIA shall close as expeditiously as possible any detention facilities that it currently operates and shall not operate any such detention facility in the future.

But the CIA denial is irrelevant. The people who talked to Foxnews are claiming that prisoners were "held and interrogated by CIA contractors", not by the CIA itself. The Executive Order only refers to the CIA, not to the military. We know that "former" special operation soldiers were operating from the "annex". How much "former" these are is a yet unknown. The drone that came to observe the situation as the annex was attacked was operated by the military for observation of some alleged militant training camps near Benghazi. Also unknown is which "contractors" the CIA hired for that dirty part of the business it is no longer allowed to do itself.
Sounds plausible, and it matches the evidence.

We do know that U.S. Special Forces are involved in lot of secret operations in northern Africa. For example on April 20 three Special Force soldiers accompanied by three Moroccan prostitutes died in a traffic accident in Mali.

What the men were doing in the impoverished country of Mali, and why they were still there a month after the United States suspended military relations with its government, is at the crux of a mystery that officials have not fully explained even 10 weeks later.

What the fuck is going on?

Two of the nation's highest ranking and most revered military leaders... ruined.

I don't get it.

What's more, Gen. Allen is still subject to the UCMJ... which contains adultery as a criminal offense.
