Celebrities and CEOs involved...

Actresses and chief executives are among 50 people arrested in a nationwide college admissions cheating scam, authorities announced Tuesday.

According to charging documents, actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are among those involved facing charges.

The suspects allegedly paid bribes of up to $6 million to get their kids into elite colleges, including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and USC.

In most cases, the students did not know their admission was contingent on a bribe.

University athletic coaches and administrators of college entrance exams were also among those arrested. The alleged scheme focused on getting students admitted to elite universities as recruited athletes, regardless of their athletic abilities, and helping potential students cheat on their college exams, according to the indictment.

The plot involved students who attended or were seeking to attend Georgetown University, Stanford University, UCLA, the University of San Diego, USC, University of Texas, Wake Forest, and Yale, according to federal prosecutors.

There's no indication that the schools were involved in any of the wrong-doing.

(CNN)Dozens of people, many affiliated with prestigious American universities, face racketeering charges over allegedly facilitating cheating on ACT and SAT tests and bribing college coaches, according to an indictment in US District Court in Massachusetts.

The purpose of the alleged scam was to help student athletes get into college, regardless of their athletic ability, according to the indictment.

It alleges that a third party took the ACT and SAT college entrance exams in place of students. The documents also allege that some defendants created fake athletic profiles for students to make them appear to be successful athletes and get them into college.
Of the defendants, several are employed as sports coaches or administrators at the University of Southern California, UCLA and Yale and Wake Forest universities. The indictment accuses defendants of committing crimes between 2011 and 2019.

hasn't this been going on forever? Bribing coaches, cheating of ACT and SAT test ? Seems like it. Helping athletes go to college regardless of their athletic ability? This is what the Justice Department thinks is such a priority that they held a press conference. Yet, no press conference was held last month involving an incident of domestic terrorism.

Well, I, for one, am glad they are cracking down on this!

Cheating has become RIFE in our society, at every level. From kids cheating on their tests, to their teachers HELPING them to cheat, to school superintendents ENCOURAGING teachers to help their students to cheat, to the parents of those students routinely fudging their taxes, to corporations engaging in massive 'creative accounting' on their taxes, right on up to Donald Trump making illegal campaign contributions to his porno star and Playboy playmate paramours.

All this CHEATING is severely damaging our society, whether people are willing to acknowledge that or not. It is a CORROSIVE acid eating away at the very foundations of our society, like termites gnawing away at the foundation.

of course, I agree. Crimes were committed here. But, here's the thing.
This gets a press conference.

This doesn't....

I, too, have been shocked at how LITTLE attention has been paid to the case of that Coast Guard Lieutenant who was about ready to go on a warpath. I just don't know if I agree with the comparison you are drawing here. I think it is a failure of the MEDIA in the case of how little we have heard about this arsenal shown in your photo.

the media very rarely , if ever, holds press conferences. I'm talking about the DOJ and the priorities of this administration.
The Justice Department is not usually shy about publicizing alleged terrorism plots that it uncovers in the United States. This week, however, news broke of a violent extremist plot in the United States that court documents chillingly noted would have led to the “murder of innocent civilians on a scale rarely seen in this country.” Outside of the court filings, however, the Justice Department did not say a word.

The plot involved Christopher Hasson, 49, a self-described white nationalist. Hasson is a lieutenant in the United States Coast Guard and had amassed a terrifying arsenal of weaponry, along with a hit list of prominent liberal politicians and media figures in the country that he had allegedly been planning to kill. Hasson had been arrested on gun and drug charges but was described in court documents as a “domestic terrorist, bent on committing acts dangerous to human life that are intended to affect governmental conduct.” Among those he was planning to target included Democratic politicians Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., as well as Sens. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. He also, according to court documents, planned to target CNN host Don Lemon and MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, among others

The Watchman, thy name is feigned self righteous indignation....LOL

You are just the cutest thing. You post a picture from a press conference showing the guns that were seized, then whine "there weren't no press conference."
