Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot says his office will no longer prosecute a number of cases in an attempt to end "mass incarceration" in Dallas County, fulfilling a campaign promise he made last fall.

In a statement released Thursday, Creuzot announced a number of reforms and said his office will no longer prosecute many cases involving first time marijuana and THC offenses, "trace" drug possession, criminal trespass and theft. Creuzot also said he'd be making changes to probation sentences and recommended bail amounts that allow people to " sit in jail not because they pose an identifiable danger to the community, but because they cannot pay their fee to go home."

Dallas County District Attorney's Office to Dismiss Many Misdemeanor, State Jail Felony Cases

I don't have a problem for decriminalzing Marijuana or THC offenses.

Trace drug possession is another matter because of the opioid crisis this Country is facing ant the moment.

I am not going to focus on that part of this policy at the moment.

Let's look at the "Theft of Necessary Items"

Theft of Necessary Items
Creuzot said his office will not prosecute theft cases where the value is under $750 unless the evidence shows the theft was for economic gain.

"Study after study shows that when we arrest, jail, and convict people for non-violent crimes committed out of necessity, we only prevent that person from gaining the stability necessary to lead a law-abiding life. Criminalizing poverty is counter-productive for our community’s health and safety," Creuzot said.
So let's get this straight.

If you want to stay out all night long drinking alcohol and smoking crack cocaine and spend all your money ....

Don't worry if the babies have no diapers or formula.

Just go to your local Wal-Mart or Target and load up for free.

Just be sure to keep it under $750.

If you get arrested .....

Don't worry.

You won't get charged.

Hell you won't even have to make bail.

This is how Leftist policies turn American cities into 3rd World Sh*tholes !!!!

Who would want to live there? There will be multiple crime now, and this District Attorney shows us another example of leftist lunacy.

Texas will become another shit-hole, like many other shit-holes that leftists are creating.
