Leftists unions, what else do they do, except keeping incompetent workers on the payroll.

How the Democrats Lost Their Way on Immigration

Don't think you are going to happy about this article - from one your favorite go-to sites.

Trump says he is considering declaring an emergency at the border to unlock military funds to build a fence (a.k.a. wall).

It’s not clear how serious he is, although anonymous White House aides have been quoted saying they believe this will be his ultimate way out of the shutdown fight.

It’s a terrible idea. Even if it’s legal — which is unclear, at best — it would represent another unwelcome step in America’s long march toward unilateral government by the executive.

The problem isn’t declaring an emergency. There is ample authority to do that and we live under a couple of dozen little-noticed declarations of emergency that have accumulated over the decades. The issue is redirecting military funds to the border fence. That would require a strained interpretation that treats the border fence as a military matter, among other legal gymnastics.

FBI Agents Say the Shutdown Is a Threat to National Security

They’ve weathered blistering attacks from the president, the exposure of sensitive sources, and the politicization of classified information. And now they’re not getting paid. “I’m not going to try to candy-coat it,” Tom O’Connor, a special agent and president of the FBI Agents Association, told me this week. “We really feel that the financial insecurities we are facing right now equate to a national-security issue.”

On Saturday, the current government shutdown will be the longest in U.S. history—and it could remain shuttered for “months or even years,” President Donald Trump warned Democrats last week. While much of the drama has centered around Trump’s demand for a wall on the southern border, thousands of FBI agents and other federal employees whose unfettered work is crucial to national security have either been furloughed or forced to work with no pay and steep budget cuts.

Morale at the FBI had already been steadily declining for months before the government shut down on December 22, according to current and recently departed agents who spoke to me on the condition of anonymity to discuss their feelings candidly. President Trump’s open warfare on the bureau has made agents’ jobs more difficult, they say, as trust in the FBI wanes among people who identify as Republicans and right-leaning independents. “Part of it is Trump’s constant attacks,” said one agent who left late last year. “Bigger than that, though, is that it seems like a portion of the population believes him. Which makes their jobs harder to do.”

And shame on him for telling his supporter's that the FBI cannot be trusted.

They are the front line for this country when it comes to National Security.

So, if the wall is NOT a threat to your cheap drugs, gangs, workers and hookers, then WHY are they fighting so hard to prevent it?
I don’t see these people trying to flee violence and poverty the way you do. You bought into trumps fear mongering and it worked. I am trying to prevent it because it is a waste of billions and billions of dollars. And only the deplorable’s believe that it will prevent drugs and hookers. We have plenty of good Americans to provide that

No they are not "facts" - lol

There is no "crisis" at the border.

Try reading a normal news source for a change.

They edited the article from the original, but when even WAPO has to acknowledge reality, the tide is shifting.

Actually, you should look into the facts. The UN determined that a majority of slavery around the world is sex slavery.

The sex abuse has been documented, the rape epidemic of women trying to get into your country illegally is to the extent that about 80% are raped en route. Some just accept that giving sex is part of the toll and take preventative measures to not get pregnant.

Then, the numbers of children brought in by gangs to be pimped out has been looked into more than you realize.

The heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, etc all has a wide supply coming that border.

A border wall stops rape? Who knew?

'Grow Up, Do Your Job, End This Shutdown': Federal Workers Hold Massive DC Rally Against Trump

"
Federal workers, government contractors, and the unions that represent them ralliedin Washington, D.C. on Thursday to pressure President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to end the ongoing government shutdown, which is just days away from becoming the longest in U.S. history.
As the president continues his "temper tantrum" over $5.7 billion in funding for his "ridiculous" wall along the U.S.-Mexico border—which Democratic lawmakers and the majority of Americans have consistently opposed—the 800,000 federal employees who aren't getting paid during the shutdown are calling on the GOP-led Senate to pass spending legislation approved by the Democratic House to reopen the government, with or without Trump's support.
"
And even Trump thinks a president should be fired for allowing a shutdown: CNN's Don Lemon airs 2013 clip of Trump saying Obama should be 'fired' over shutdown
