The methodology for mitigation of gun violence.

Where it regards school shootings. The investigation of the shooting should go beyond the incident. In interviewing all students. Some schoolings resulted as a result of bullying. The investigation should be deep and hold those who played a role in driving a person to commit such acts, but punished according to the law. Schools are a public institution. Cameras should be in every hall. Every room and outside restrooms. The tapes could be used to thwart the bullying that has taken place.

Where it concerns all shootings. The identification of shooter's with mental problems. However, this should include looking at the types of drugs involved in treatment.. Many of the medications have been a common factor in shootings. Medication used for things beyond mental state should be looked into. Look at the medical warnings on Chantix. A drug meant to treat the addiction of smoking has many side effects including negative changes in mood.

With regards to mental health. Does a person who is following the law has no violent or criminal record and is sticking to their medication not have the have the right to defend themselves?

But let's face the facts on all of this. The government has achieved their goal. They have marginalized our rights to bear arms by not allowing people to bear the same guns our military or police officers carry. NRA has helped in marginalizing our second amendment and we are now left with pea-shooters compared to the military or police officers.

To take guns away makes controlling people much easier. An armed insurrection is more tolerable than an unarmed insurrection. Were the government to shoot armed people, the more people would say. "Well, I guess they should not have carried guns." But shoot unarmed citizens. That would make people take notice. The laws will not stop shooters. The tighter the gun laws, the more they are available on the black market anyway.

Goes a little deeper than that. Lousy parenting and being on the 'Net 24/7 has a contributing factor.

Take away guns, starting with the best home defense weapon in the AR-15 type. Meanwhile allow in millions every decade from turd word countries whose crime rates are far higher than our crime rate.

Shearing the sheeple.

Oh boy, picking up the great gun debate in the middle class of the argument.

Many of the those involved in mass shootings were normal people without outward signs of being deranged.

Not sure that they were all "raised wrong." Whatever helps you sleep at night.

The OP mentioned that shooters were "mentally ill." Do you have any proof to back that? I mean, what percentage of them were? Are you just guessing?

"The tighter the gun laws, the more they are available on the black market anyway."

The black market isn't really a black market, those are "legally purchased guns" in most cases that were illegally obtained.

You will never ever determine who's going to undertake a massacre. If science and the psychologists can't determine who will, no one else will achieve it.

Where's the black market? Do I go down to the local docks and start shouting I want to buy a gun?

What do you mean by, "Take guns away"? In the UK, we have guns, we have handguns as well. What do you mean, "Take guns away"? Do you mean, restrict the types that are not suitable in society and enforce regulations?

Really? Then why is gun violence only a major problem in one first world nation?
