Still say "Rhoda" tops the list. "Give me back my SHOES" !
At the end of that movie, little Rhoda gets spanked. And maybe that also happened to one of the women that Clint 'did' in his role in High Plains Drifter.

You post made me think of Diana, and the early 80’s Sci Fi series V.

I never watched that series.....so can't really comment. She doesn't look like much of a villain there. Certainly not like the Baron Harkonnen!

A red welfare state
Wow. That is a tough one. With me, it's usually the performances that I never forget. Such as ...

Nicholson in Chinatown and As Good As It Gets.
Hanks in Big and Philadelphia.
Pesci in Goodfellas and My Cousin Vinnie.
Brando in Viva Zapata and On The Waterfront.
John Candy in Planes, Trains And Automobiles.
John Cusack in The Sure Thing.
O'Toole in The Lion In Winter and My Favorite Year.
Deniro and Pacino at the coffeeshop in Heat.

And those are just actors. And, Lord, I could go on. But I don't want to ignore actresses so I'll list my all-time favorite.

Kathleen Turner in Romancing The Stone. It was a flawless performance.

.

My favorite actress is Kathy Bates. Loved her in Misery, Dolores Claiborne, & Fried Green Tomatoes.

Ray Liotta in GoodFellas, Heartbreakers, & Blow

Forgot about Misery with Kathy Bates. That crazy hobbling scene was brutal.

I enjoyed her as Mama Boucher in the movie ‘Waterboy’
