Highly redacted, what are they hiding. And if Carter Page is so dirty, why has he never been charged?

Here’s the 5 Important Details We Learned From Just Released Carter Page FISA Warrant

...

2. The warrants flatly declare Page is a Russian agent. Over and over again.

Employing the same or similar verbiage throughout the various warrants, the FBI used various iterations of the following phrases, terms and accusations: (1) “The target of of this application is an agent of a foreign power”; (2) “The following describes the foreign power and sets forth in detail a description of the target and the target’s activities for or on behalf of this foreign power.”; (3) “Carter W. Page [redacted] knowingly engage in clandestine intelligence activities (other than intelligence gathering activities) for or on behalf of such foreign power, which activities involve or are about to involve a violation of the criminal statutes of the United States, or knowingly conspires with other person to engage in such activities and, therefore, is an agent of a foreign power as defined by 50 U.S.C. § 1801(b)(2)(E).” (4) This application targets Carter Page. The FBI believes Page has been the subject of targeted recruitment by the Russian Government [redacted] undermine and influence the outcome of the 2016 U.S. Presidential election in violation of U.S. criminal law. Page is a former foreign policy advisor to a Candidate for U.S. President (Candidate #1).”; (5) “As discussed below, Page has established relationships with Russian Government officials, including Russian intelligence officers. [redacted]”

3. Most of the interesting stuff is blacked out. And that’s almost everything.

In the parlance of spooks and spies, most of the meat here is redacted. Rather than an illumination into much of anything, these documents are mostly likely to provide a groundswell of eye-rolling, heartburn and consternation. Law&Crime‘s Aaron Keller will dive into the ridiculous absurdity of this release in a separate piece here.

And of course it’s highly redacted. It’s insanely classified intelligence regarding an ongoing investigation. This is the first time in history even this much has been released to the public.

And that’s only because of Nunes’ antics. We can see now that Nunes was completely full of shit. Most notably his claims that the FISA court wasn’t aware of Steele’s potential bias. They were completely aware, with a full page dedicated to the disclosure.

It is also shows Nunes and co. lied regarding the Yahoo news article. They claimed it was used to corroborate the Steele dossier. It was actually used to show that Page denied meeting in Moscow.

The docs also show that the application contained far more than just the Steele dossier as evidence.

At the very least, Nunes should be thrown off the intelligence committee ASAP

Only sources and methods need be redacted, nothing else. And here we have way too much. I also note the unwarranted attack on Nunes, parroting crazy eyes Schiff.

Touching too how much faith the left suddenly has in the 'WMD's in Iraq' intelligence agencies.

Lol, unwarranted? Nunes fucking lied. He abused his access to classified information to craft an intentionally misleading memo with the sole Intention of trashing the FBI in a piss poor, transparent attempt to muddy the water and run interference for the president.

Convenient that you didn’t address any of that.

AHAHAHAHA holy shit that is beautiful. It’s the Monet of bad whataboutism. *Italian finger kiss*

Here are some important facts to understand that this OP has no clue of.

1] A FISA warrant is not an indictment, it is a request to investigate.

When the FBI were prosecuting Russian spies, court documents confirmed that during the investigation of the soon to be convicted Russian spies, the spies spoke of flipping Carter to see if he would work with the spies.

It is illegal to listen to a US citizen's communications without a warrant. A judge has to understand why a warrant is needed. Explaining to the judge what the spies wanted to do with Carter was necessary.

The warrant request was not an indictment of Carter...just an explanation of what he may be involved in.

Oh hey look at that, this shows Nunes was completely full of shit on many fronts
It's an additional source of information, but it is incomplete. More to come. If Carter Page was trying to help Trump get Trump Moscow built, he might have a range of contacts with Russians trying to rope him into the meddling without him supporting the meddling and still look suspicious to folks who wanted Trump nailed. The level of bias within the FBI is yet to be pinned down. So redactions be damned. And wait until both Mueller and Horowitz complete their tasks.
