Don't believe the voting habits of the homeless (or the lack thereof) is a major concern in the discussion.

The bigger focus is some of the homeless policy adopted by the Austin City Council. And whether the new (more lenient) rules are making the city even more attractive to those folks. Camping on the sidewalks and panhandling restrictions have been removed/lessened...to the displeasure of police and many local residents.
No solutions in sight as Dallas' homeless problem continues to grow

Sad but true. A once proud state reduced to the sorry company of California.

Let us commiserate.

Austin is like a hipster/cowboy fake amusement park. It's wierd, and not in the cool way they want it to be. hahaha

Amazing that taxpaying citizens would be upset that homeless and druggies would be encouraged to be camping on their sidewalks and streets.

And using the bathroom there.

And disposing of their garbage and used needles there.

The nerve of some people...
Taxpaying Texans at that.

The horror!

Don't those bums know they belong in California?

Go west young man.

And young woman.

And all the rest of em!

There's plenty of illegal Spanish speaking homeless out thar to make em feel right at home...
Maybe they aren't surfers.
