Oh calm down. It was a humorous survey to demonstrate what percentage of Americans don't know what their numbers are called. Likely most of them did once learn it, but their ridiculous hatred of anything preceded by the word "Arabic" has been now forced them to be suspicious of even their numbers—an unfortunate casualty of constant vigilance, for sure.

This is what we were taught in Primary School, and it is roughly what my handwriting looks like today (but a bit more stylish - I hope).



I believe it is called modified cursive - and I think it is easier to read than 'running writing'.

Our kid's elementary and middle school still teach and allow cursive, but it isn't used as much in highschool.

Cursive is good for the brain.
