See? The shutdown isn't all bad.
That'd probably be fine, if people didn't have to go through TSA regardless of how many people they have on hand.

Fewer agents means longer lines on a compounding basis as time goes on and there are even fewer agents.

The administration knows this is bad. DHS angrily denounced reporting that we're seeing significant disruption, winning a Trump attaboy.

Now airports are considering closing terminals over the matter.

Airport Security Fails to Detect 95% of Fake Explosives, Weapons

At least now we aren't under the illusion that these people are keeping us out of danger.
Seriously you don't seem to care at all that actual human beings are not being paid and could lose their homes, access to health care, car payments, regardless of what job they do for the Feds because Trump forced this stupid shutdown on the country?

At least the actual TSA administrator is doing his damn job.

Transportation Security Administration workers who manned checkpoints on Dec. 22 will be paid, despite the federal shutdown that began the previous day, and they also will receive a $500 bonus for working during the busy Christmas season.

The payment for work that Saturday and the bonus money are an effort by TSA Administrator David P. Pekoske to soften the blow to his workers and encourage them to remain on the job after they missed their first paycheck on Friday.

The bonus and an estimated $150 to $200 in Saturday pay should be received by TSA workers early next week.

Wow. How cynical do you have to be to post that? Let's not fix the TSA--let's use this as a reason it's okay to screw them. You think the men and women on the line in airports are to blame for this? Did we just manage to hire all incompetents at airports all around the country?

I have to say I'm very disturbed that TSA can't identify fake explosive and weapons.

Well, it's racist to screen people entering your country, that's the argument at least. So, who cares if planes get screened, they are just crossing the border.

that is what they signed up for when they took their jobs. They all knew this happens. It has happened before and will happen again. Just an FYI just about ever president in recent times has done this..... this again is no different.

Its no different when unions call for strikes... or when you are saddled with jury duty.
