You are not comprehending what I said. Yes, they did it retroactively because there was confidential information in the memo. It should have been done by Comey and his claiming that those memos were personal was wrong. They belonged to the government. The FBI classified the memo as 'confidential' and they fought to keep it from becoming public and lost. At the level Comey was at he knew it was confidential but yet he showed it to his attorneys who did no have any kind of security clearance.

So even if @HayJenn was right, that just proves his incompetence as the information he shoukd have known as fhe director of the fbi was confidential.

Exactly. He either had to be one dumb director of the FBI to believe those memos were personally his and did not contain classified info or what we now know and what he was up to!

But dumb is not an excuse for breaking the law. Especially at the confidential level which usually contains peoples personal info and the like.

Trump had already been warned about Flynn's foreign representative status. He was wrong to try and obstruct justice.
Mr. Charleston,

I take it by your strawman, you agree that libs are whining about nothing.

And our President did not obstruct justice. That is just a liberal pipe dream.

You don't know anything except what your fake news tells you to believe. Trump had every right to fire Trump, he really didn't need a reason. That's his right.

And, soon, there will be some damning information that should put to rest the REAL crooks involved in this scandal. You won't like it, neither will your fake news sources, who will try and downplay the criminal activities of anti-Trump operatives. Some are likely to be prosecuted.
Don't hold your fucking breath waiting on those prosecutions of Democrats, you will die of asphyxiation. You fall for that dupe shit every single time...pitiful..you read those nut job right wing sites and believe every bit of garbage they shove down the right's throat, you even drag that shit from the bowels of the internet on to PH, discredited site after discredited site, it is like you fell off the turnip truck and headed for fool factory.

And to think he feels he is deserving of an apology. Wow, Comey, get over yourself!

It Seems Trump Was Right To Fire James Comey
Editorial of The New York Sun | August 29, 2019

The most important point to draw from the Justice Department’s report on James Comey is that President Trump was right to cashier him as director of the FBI. The department declined to prosecute the ex-director. The department’s inspector general made clear, though, that Mr. Comey lacks the judgment to safeguard the kind of sensitive information that the Bureau needs to keep safe in order to properly “dispatch” its duties.
That strikes us as devastating. The report focuses on Mr. Comey’s sharing of sensitive memos with persons outside the department, among them his lawyers. He shared some with a friend for onpassing to the New York Times. The IG found Mr. Comey at times failed “to immediately alert the FBI to the unauthorized disclosure of classified information” and was less than completely forthcoming in testimony to the Senate.
Mr. Comey, the IG report concludes, set a “dangerous example for the over 35,000 current FBI employees” and thousands of former ones who “similarly have access to or knowledge of non-public information.” He should have adhered to department and FBI policies if he wanted a special counsel appointed. Instead he disclosed sensitive investigative information “in order to achieve a personally desired outcome.” It Seems Trump Was Right To Fire James Comey
He was fired for a corrupt reason....just like all of Trump's decisions.
