Didnt see a thread yet on this. Gardner is in big trouble. Also, why didnt Hickenlooper put ads out like his senate one when he first ran for president???? His roll out for president was bumpy and odd. His senate one thus far is great.

Former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper (D), who last week ended his 2020 presidential campaign, announced on Thursday that he will seek a seat in the U.S. Senate.

“I’m not done fighting for the people of Colorado,” he said in a video attacking Washington over pre-existing conditions, prescription prices and the opening of public land to developers.

“I don’t think Cory Gardner understands that the games he’s playing with Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell are hurting the people of Colorado,” he said, referring to Colorado's incumbent Republican senator, the president and the Senate majority leader, respectively.

Gardner is widely considered to be one of the most vulnerable Republican senators up for reelection next year, especially given Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s victory over Trump in Colorado in 2016. The Cook Political Report, a nonpartisan election handicapper, rates the race as a “toss up.”

Like the guy. Great resume.

If people like Hickenlooper were the standard/norm for our members of Congress the country would run a lot smoother. And Washington DC would be a lot less toxic.

..
True. Seems like a nice guy too. Fun. Has some challengers in his primary, but I would expect him to win by a large margin.

I'm surprised they are rating the Colorado Senate race next year as a 'toss up'. I think Gardner is toast. I don't give him much chance of winning re-election. Trump is much disliked in Colorado, and Gardner has sided with Trump MOST of the time...….

Read an article where they talked about Hickenloopers challengers. One of them at least, has plans to attack him over his fracking and pro fossil fuel stance. I dont know much about Colorado politics, is that a good idea? I would figure Hickenlooper is going to wipe them all out easily. But the article did cite something about a big green movement there and something about the recall over fossil fuels..

Fracking remains a very controversial issue in Colorado, as it is in other places. And I am growing more concerned about it, too, in the wake of recent scientific reports that connect a big surge in atmospheric methane levels with the huge increase in fracking in the last decade. As you probably know, in the short to medium-term run, methane is a far more powerful greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide.

So, yes, Hickenlooper is not just going to be GRANTED or GIVEN the nomination to run for Senator. I mean, I think he will PROBABLY get the nomination, but it is by no means a sure thing.

His campaign for the Presidency was one of the dumbest I've ever seen. So I hope his campaign for senate is better, otherwise Gardener has little to worry about.

Yea he really screwed up his national introduction. He refused to say if he was a capitalist and I think he was the one who took his mother to a porno movie. People thought he was a bit of a kook. His new ad looks great though.
