Let's go to war?

Do you support US military action against Iran?

The US was essentially founded on war and conflict and has been for 222 years.
What nation...ever...has not been founded on war?
Why would we ever in a million years think we suddenly would be different? In the US peace is done via force. Thats why we think we are peaceful, we are the worlds law enforcement.
But Claudius points that we often don't enforce law--just our own interests. Korea was law enforcement, but Viet Nam? The first Iraq war was law enforcement, but not the second.

But some might argue we had no business in Vietnam. It was "their problem." Same thing with Iraq. Yet we couldnt wait to get in and try to enforce our rules and ideas.

Attacked us how? We know nothing about the supposed threats against which Trump is assembling this flotilla. In the meantime, John Bolton (who has advocated war against Iran for decades) is assembling plans for an invasion. So...how would Iran attack us? We deserve to know.

Here's the thing: a US president can move assets to a region in order to counter a threat without making the moves so public. It's UNUSUAL for such moves to be so public. Why the saber rattling?

Probably because Trump needs a diversion from the results of his trade war.

Now that's a relief. Please, do share the inside information you have that makes you so sure.

The lack of increasing readiness among the regular military, the lack of deployments and movements ..... Read the military times see what they are writing about. See who's being deployed where.

You may be right, and I hope you are. Why the saber rattling, the sending warships to the area, and the rumors of 120,000 troops? Is that just to distract us?

Has anyone done anything to reassure the Iranians, or does Trump want them to think we're about to attack?

I am still trying to figure that part out. I don't think it's like the last two presidents "wagging the dog" that we've seen. Im not sure what trump wants to distract from, and why I don't think it's that is trump isn't banging the war drums, bolton may be, but trump seems less committed.

When the wag the dog type of bs happens its the potus, whether an obama or a bush(s), they lead the charge for the call. or the SECSTATE does.

Pompeo and Bolton was in the army. They would not be chicken hawks. Chicken hawks are people who've never served supporting wars they would be unwilling to fight themselves. Signing that blank check by enlisting or being commissioned, is the opposite of that.

Pompeo graduated from West point 1st in his class.
