Our finest negotiators couldn’t quite manage to work the release of four American hostages into the historic Iran nuclear deal, but President Obama will always enjoy the legacy of having traded five high-value Taliban prisoners for deserter Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.

What’s Bergdahl been up to lately? Apparently taking a field trip to an illegal pot farm in Northern California.

Bowe Bergdahl Spotted at Illicit Mendocino County Marijuana Farm During Raid | NBC Bay Area

Bergdahl, who is awaiting court martial, was on an authorized leave to visit friends in Northern California and was to return to his duty station on Wednesday.

Why is a man charged with desertion given a pass to go off base? Are they inviting him to run again?

Deserter Bergdahl Given Leave to Visit Pot Growing Operation

I wonder if he was going to return to his duty station or if he was deserting again?

Mendocino County Today: Thursday, July 23, 2015 | Anderson Valley Advertiser

He was visiting old friends when the local dope team arrived on a marijuana raid. Bergdahl, who is awaiting military court martial, had an Army pass allowing him to be in Mendocino County. BERGDAHL had arrived last Friday at the remote property 7 miles northeast of central Redwood Valley, and was scheduled to return to the East Coast on Wednesday. He was not arrested. At the Pentagon's request, the combat veteran was transported by the Sheriff's Department to Santa Rosa where he was met by an Army major who was to accompany Bergdahl to his duty station near Washington.

He may face charges for this. Regardless of state laws, it's still illegal for federal personnel (including the military) to have or use marijuana.
Even if he is found not to have been there to use pot, it's still conduct unbecoming.

Btw...when, exactly was Bergdahl convicted of desertion?
