Not being able to compete with Fox News, the original all news station is calling it quits, preferring to fill up its time with reality programming, and one can assume, being the official station of the DNC.

CNN To Ditch News Programming

The nation’s first cable news network was ahead of its time when it debuted more than 30 years ago. In the meantime, however, relevant content from competitors such as Fox News has constantly eroded CNN’s stake in the market.

Combined with the blatant partisanship of its personalities and frequent misleading or inaccurate reportage, there is little surprise that Ted Turner’s brainchild is routinely found near the bottom of ratings lists.

As a result, CNN recently announced drastic changes to its format to include more reality programming, documentaries, and other non-news offerings.

Network officials confirmed that the switch would cut into profits, indicating this move is more out of necessity than a genuine desire to eschew hard news coverage.

“These programming investments will put pressure on its margins,” said Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes, noting that he expects it will also “bring new advertisers to CNN.”

John Martin, CFO of CNN’s parent company, expressed similar concern, telling investors that the media property’s income stream might remain stagnant for years to come.

With a current lineup of shrill, ideologically driven anchors and commentators, the struggling network can no longer compete with popular personalities found elsewhere on cable. Furthermore, its primary forte – covering breaking news as it happens – has been usurped not only by competing networks but by countless online resources.
CNN To Ditch News Programming

And we have seen the failure of liberal programming before.

Remember this?

Air America (formerly Air America Radio and Air America Media) was an American radio network specializing in progressive talk programming. It was on the air from March 2004 to January 2010.

The company eventually changed its name from Air America Radio to Air America Media and lastly to just Air America, an effort to establish itself as a broadcaster on multiple media sources including television and the Internet, and one not merely relegated to radio. Always primarily a radio network, on January 21, 2010, Air America went off the air citing difficulties with the current economic environment, and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and liquidated itself. Bennett Zier was the company's last CEO including through the bankruptcy and liquidation.

Liberals need to wake up and realize that the country is not buying what your selling. Your having one failure after another.

Wake up and smell the coffee!

I'm not sure I buy the story at this point. First of all, no one else seems to be carrying this "news." I couldn't even find it on Fox, much less with a Google search (excepting the WCJ article, of course).

Second, WCJ was started by Joseph Farah, the same guy who brought us WorldNetDaily, which is not a credible news source of any kind. I deduce the same kind of thing from WCJ, of which WND was started as a division of.

Third, Wikipedia has nothing about it, though the story's been up since yesterday.

Is there a credible source for this? Or is it the same kind of "news" brought to you by WND, purveyor of RWNJ nonsense so bad even Fox won't touch it?

Maybe Fox is busy reporting real news and not commons sense stuff like CNN having no viewers anymore?

Its so ignored already that nobody will probably be aware of the fact that they are no longer broadcasting live news.
