I wonder how he came up with the $29,000 value. If he was so broke he had to move in with his parents, then maybe he was overspending on porn. It makes sense that he was going through a divorce. Not many women are going to want to stay with a dude who is blowing that much money on porn. I can imagine that she would have probably brought that up every time they got into an argument about money.
"Maybe he was overspending on porn."

Gee, ya think? LOLOL! $29,000 would pay for several round-the-world cruises for a romantic couple. At least a few. Yeah, I could see where she'd be questioning his spending priorities. LOL!

Inconceivable that he never heard of 'public storage'... If he didn't pay the rent they would have sold it. I vote with the parental units. At $29K (gotta laff at that) it must have taken up some room. Was he paying them to store it?
Almost certainly not, but that fid not allow the parents to dispose of the property. It was a voluntary bailment, if memory serves, not abandoned property.

As to the value, some issues are collectable worth hundreds or even thousands.

You all are assuming he was buying these magazines on a regular basis, and he may well have been doing so. If he was a collector, 29 grand is a fair bit, but not unreasonable.
