And now comes Congressman John Dingell on the once respectable Ed Shultz's MSNBC show

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfoG...nealz_nuze/index.html&feature=player_embedded

When asked by Shultz if this reminds of of the 60's he replies that the last time he say anything like this was when he voted for the Civil Rights bill and his opponent voted against it. The further to thate

"At that time we had a lot of Ku Klux Klan folks and white supremacists and folks in white sheets and other things running around causing trouble.""

What he omits to say is the those people were Democrats, progressive Democrats in the South and midwest who opposed Civil Rights, not Republicans who supported Civil Rights. In fact the opponent he talks about was one John Lesinski Jr. who had taken over the seat after his father's, John Lesinski Sr., death in 1950. Both DEMOCRATS.

So these ugly smear that are being issued are not only baseless smears they misrepresent the facts and insinuate that not only are Republicans racist now they are to be tied with the racist DEMOCRATS who fought Civil Rights.

How disgusting are the Democrats and Obama's henchmen going to get?

And you omit the fact that the racist Dixiecrats (hardly progressive) left the party to become Republicans as Civil Rights went forward.

Ugh, epic fail.

How often is this nonsense going to trot itself out? It's more common than Godwin's law. Yes, the Dixiecrats were racist. However, they all joined up with the Republicans when Reagan was elected. you own them now. Got it? This nonsense must be about the most hollow, and unsurprisingly oft repeated, nonsense that the "conservatives" put out there.

the reaction to the plan is because of the ugliness of the plan itself. Truth is on the protesters side.

No he falsely called them KKK and white sheet wearers, those who oppose the health care plan.

[oh, they have a LONG way to go before they match the ugliness displayed by the health care plan protesters.]

No they took the lead out of the gate and haven't given it up yet.
