The child in that photo is likely living a life that could only be imagined in just a short time back in human history. If he has two pairs of shoes he is likely more wealthy then 90% of the people on this planet. His most valuable gift is his freedom. Unfortunately some gifts are never opened.
So you think that kid should just be content to live were he is because it could be much worse.

You know there are some people in the world that shake their head and think, it could be worse we could be American. Just saying.

He may very well be content to live where he is. But if he is an American he has been blessed with a measure of freedom that can not be underscored. His path to a prosperous, healthy, happy life is there. That is not the case for most children in this world.

Oh boy, you are brainwashed. America is not the only country in the world where you can go on the internet or stand in the middle of the street and criticize the gov't and even its leader. The media can show whatever it pleases and people can practice their religion or not as they see fit and love whomever they like. In terms of a path to prosperity, there are also a lot of countries that have people go from rag to riches because social mobility isn't tied to how much your parents were worth.

We are interested in rich people per capita per million inhabitants. And if we leave out the pure tax havens, like Cyprus and Switzerland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Monaco, who have an artificially huge share of rich people, it turns out that we have on number five Denmark with 179 rich people per million inhabitants; Canada, New Zealand, Sweden, and on top Norway.
If it was perfect social mobility, if the talents and opportunities were equally distributed, 20% from the bottom would end up on each of these five ladders. So let’s look at the numbers for the different countries. In Denmark, they’re pretty close to perfect social mobility with 14%, going from rags to riches; in Norway 12%, Sweden 11%, United States 8%. Because of free education there are more self-made men in Scandinavia than in the US.

Oh for fuck sakes, people will still work in the private sector it's not communism. Your tax rate might go up but then again you wouldn't have to pay for health insurance or worry how you're going to pay for your kids education. Why the fuck do you think they are the happiest people in the world?

Rich media magnates have used their control over large sections of news outlets to make policies that tax rich people less popular, also have used their lobbying power to lower the taxes their community pays. In recent years, overall spending on welfare policies has been slightly reduced by both center-right and center-left governments in a bid to decrease government deficits (without increasing taxes on rich people) and enhance economic competitiveness.

In 2006, The Economist asserted that the Nordic Model, with what it deemed "grave defects", would break down, predicting that a new centre-right government in Sweden would dismantle the welfare state.[3] This would not occur. Two years later, the economies of both the United Kingdom (where The Economist is based) and its less-regulated counterpart, the United States, crumbled into the worst recession since the 1930s. Sweden's total tax rate remains at near 50%, and every Scandinavian nation (excluding deregulated Iceland) has emerged with comparatively lower debt levels and unemployment rates than both the US and UK. The Economist has since, if begrudgingly, called the Scandinavian nations "probably the best-governed in the world."
Oh, God, we would not want be a group that is called "the best governed in the world", when we can have Trumponomics.

Wow, she wants to turn us into Greece.

They only work like 4 months out of the year over there and get paid for full time.

That may have changed now but it was something like that which led them into trouble in the first place.
Yup, that's why Greece went bust. Retirement age is low and the government pay high pensions, hence why they went scurrying to the he EU for a bail out.
