What they need to do is elect a new majority leader.

Leaving town at the moment the shutdown became the longest in history should be a career-ending offense.
"Democrats fall in love, Republicans fall in line", if even one does not vote the party line, one time, they are branded RINO's forever. See all the hate threads for McCain because he voted his conscience and his conscience said Trumpcare was a fucking fraud that would cost millions access to decent healthcare, the rest of the GOP fell in line...and they all knew the same thing McCain knew but didn't give a shit.

Hell no! The CR is the problem.

Pass a full budget to fund the government for a full year. Pass that budget on time.

The 2019 budget should have been passed and in place October 1st, 2018.

Pass a law to outlaw CR's.
The Democrts are passing a new law that does something similar, but Mitch will kill it in the Senate, just like he does any legislation that does not benefit the 1% or authoritarian control.

Here is his statement on HR 1, the bill to fight corruption in Washington:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell already bluntly stated, “That’s not going to go anywhere.”
House Democrats officially unveil their first bill in the majority: a sweeping anti-corruption proposal

They are trying to have their cake and eat it too by dancing around Trump but removing their own responsibility. All they have to do is pass these 'end the shutdown' bills in the Senate and make Trump be responsible for signing it or not. This is Trump's shutdown but the republican run Senate is responsible for withholding the bills to protect the president instead of being a separate branch of government. Bring the shutdown ending bills to the floor Mitch McConnell.
