This is not a challenge this is a discussion of a challenge.

Challenge: No social media (that includes Political Hotwure) for one full year.

- No posting on social media. Twitter, Facebook, Forums, SnapChat, etc.
- No reading social media.
- If you get news that includes social media, you source and read the news but skip over any instances of social media that is included.

Do you think you could do it?

I couldn't give up this site, I have already given up all the others.

Well I need at least one political site to chat on, not necessarily this one.

I find that if I rotate my bans effectively there is always at least one of them open to me.

Currently serving a 3 month sentence from my #2 option.

That is just for me however, I still need to use them for work.

But I don't inhale.

No one can.

Almost no one, anyhoo.

May as well move into a cave and cling to your guns and your religion.

Then again, Game of Thrones is finished, so maybe...

Sure, I could... but I won't. I lived most of my life without the Internet, and I got by just fine without it.

If I felt that I was devoting too much time to social media, then I'd at least consider a sabbatical. I don't participate in any of the web activities (such as Twitter, Facebook, SnapChat, etc.) that people typically consider "social media". I do post on a few fora. Aside from PH, I sometimes post on sports, science, automotive or work related fora. I can't imagine forcing myself to stop doing so merely as a response to a whimsical challenge.

Would I give up forum posting for a year for $1,000,000.00 in compensation? Hellz yeah I would! ;)

Reminds me of a parental challenge that I would occasionally hear about friends doing back in the mid to late 80s. Parents would challenge their kids not to watch any television for a year, and if they were successful they would get some sum of money, usually between 500 and 1000 dollars.

II suppose I could, but I'm not sure why I would. This is the only "social media" I actively participate in. I have a Facebook account, but I rarely ever open it. I have a Twitter account, but almost never check that either and never tweet anything. Really just use it when I'm in an airport or doctor's office to find something to read by journalists and public figures I find interesting.

Why would I give up something that I like?

And give up PH? Never!

(Of course, now that I've said "never," G-d's sense of humour will kick in...)

It would be hard because its so much a part of my routine. It could be done, and maybe I would be better for it... but at least for now I certainly don't want to. lol
