Yeah, Sanders is a bit worrying I have to admit.

With Biden out he is now the top dog according to polling.
Yang has potential too. His universal income idea is something I can see appealing to a lot of Americans. But I would agree with you in the sense that currently I see Sanders as the strongest candidate on the democratic side. He's tried and tested and I've seen him in debates and he can hold his own. Yang may fall apart under stress and scrutiny so he's still a bit of an unknown for me. But I do see some potential there.

Exactly, and especially what the DNC did to him, I can see him getting his shot.

I heard Biden was going to announce but my god what a mistake that would be.

As you said, Sanders is tested, like Biden, so he would be tough. He would have to tone it down a notch but that's not really a big deal.

I agree it would be a mistake for Biden to jump into the race. I suspect he'd just get his ass kicked in the primary for the hundredth time. He's one of those candidates who may look good on paper but once the voters see the actual goods their enthusiasm dies quickly.

I'm not sure if Sanders would have to tone it down though. I'd have to know more of what you mean by that before I could comment.

The hard tact to the radical left was partially created by Sanders although he never actually participated in it.

It is unappealing to most Americans but it is attributed to him in a way so he would have to dispel that right away.

He will be known as a socialist candidate but he must make that appealing to the mainstream so things like the New Green Deal he would have to disavow off the bat.

I think Sanders does a good job of explaining the difference in socialism and what he coins as "democratic" socialism. So I don't think that's going to hurt him. The Republicans are kidding themselves if they think they can just use socialism as a dirty word to try and brand their opponents with to beat them. That won't work. But I do agree with you he needs to distance himself form the Green New Stupid. If he starts advocating for that nonsense he'll sink faster than the titanic.

The scary part for me is that I don't think Sanders would actually be a bad president.

Sure I don't agree with many of his policies but some I do and I am pretty sure he would drift to moderate.

Do I think he could do the job, absolutely.

It's things like Court appointments and such that I have issues with. His war stances are right on point however. He may also want to give to much away but we have congress to temper that down.

I think the battle between Trump and Sanders would be epic though, like watching star wars, two sides clearly defined, one is evil and one is the hero depending on which side you stand on.

I'd like to make the call that this will be the match up but it's just a bit too early right now.

Gonna wait a bit.

I would love to see a Trump VS Sanders match up as well.

My main issue with Sanders is that he wants to cover even illegal immigrants with this healthcare plan. That's just insane to me and would invite the entire third world to sneak into our country and overwhelm our social systems. So he would have to moderate on that issue to ever have a chance at my vote. Because I actually support a public healthcare service (similar to what they have in Canada, Britain etc.) but only if it is for citizens and legal residents only.

That's one thing I at least appreciate about Yang's Universal income plan. At least he only applies it to actual citizens.

I am open to listening to his positions.

Trump is not a lock by any stretch of the imagination, he has to earn it.

He has done well so far but not so well that he can't be replaced.

I have no love for Trump, he doesn't inspire me....just the opposite in fact, but he is getting the job done.

For that he get's my vote.

For the democrats to take that they need to give me something and they need a good candidate to do that.

Trump likely has my vote as well. He stood up to congress and started building the border wall on his own accord. That was a gutsy move that earned my respect. But if a democrat who has a feasible plan for universal healthcare gets elected I could live with that too. But Trump has earned my support a second go around. He has done what he told me he was going to do and that's all I wanted. He renegotiated NAFTA, had stood up to China on trade - and is building the border wall. I can live with those results.

From one of the leaders on the left, he tells it like it is.

We told you guys not to put all your eggs in this basket but you did and now you will pay the price for that.

Sure you think there still might be a chance of getting something on Trump but you have to realize that the longer you keep that up, the more electoral votes Trump will get.
