"OFFENSE, OFFENSE, OFFENSE. That's what the NRA does." "Exploit a massacre." And apparently we are exporting it. Professionally done by Al Jazeera with an attitude. But the voices and faces are the PRO-GUN crowd here telling Australia how to organize, money and tactics. Includes meetings with the NRA.

Another NRA employee, Catherine Mortensen, also offered advice on how to handle
media inquiries after a mass shooting by simply stating “Ignore them.”

(This is an HOUR long but the first 10 minutes are very telling. It's very interesting, this was an UNDERCOVER sting operation for 3 years).

In a secretly recorded video captured by Al Jazeera, executives for the National Rifle Association (NRA) can be seen coaching members of the anti-immigration One Nation party of Australia how to attack gun control activists following shootings.

In the video, which can be seen below, media inquiries about gun control persist, NRA communications official, Lars Dalseide, advised members of the group to “shame them to the whole idea,” when fighting back against anyone advocating for sensible gun laws.

“If your policy, isn’t good enough to stand on itself, how dare you use their deaths to push that forward? How dare you stand on the graves of those children to put forward your political agenda?” the activsists are advised.

Another NRA employee, Catherine Mortensen, also offered advice on how to handle media inquiries after a mass shooting by simply stating “Ignore them.”

A post regarding the uglier side of politics. Oh well.
I don’t suppose a column regarding gun ban groups coaching theirs, or abortion activists defending their practices or Dem groups exploiting dead soldiers to oppose war are any more palatable. Do you?

A post regarding the uglier side of politics.
This will be especially outrageous in Australia, which is still trying to come to terms with one of their countrymen having been responsible for the Christchurch Massacre. Australia and New Zealand, while intense rivals in matters of sport and commerce, otherwise regard each other as the closest of siblings and it's been distressing.

To have these bozos from the U.S. caught on tape actively working to spread their poison — and there is no question, the NRA represents a toxic point of view in Australia, well outside the mainstream — in the midst of the massacre will anger many. I realize, of course, that you don't give a shit. But at some point we're going to have to get back to a world where we DO care about what people around the world think about us. America First is fine and well, but America Alone is a path to damnation.

Senior One Nation figures James Ashby and Steve Dickson have been caught on camera seeking millions of dollars of political donations from US gun rights group the National Rifle Association in a bid to seize the balance of power in the Australian parliament and weaken Australia’s gun laws. An al-Jazeera journalist posing as pro-gun campaigner used secret cameras showing the pair endorsing NRA counter-attack lines in the event of a gun massacre. NRA media liaison Lars Dalseide offers advice on what to say in response to mass shootings, suggesting pro-gun politicians should 'shame' opponents with lines such as 'How dare you stand on the graves of those children to put forward your political agenda?' Dickson replies: 'I love that.'
One Nation attempts to secure millions from NRA to soften Australia’s gun laws – video

For those who are unfamiliar with One Nation, it is an extreme far right political party which was started by a lady who ran a fish and chip shop in Queensland, and who is fanatically against any immigration which is non-white, Anglo-Celtic. Pauline Hanson is also a Senator for Queensland and has said that she is shocked and disgusted - not by her party negotiating to change Australian gun laws in return for millions of dollars - but by the fact that Al Jazeera infiltrated One Nation and blew the whistle on their plans. One Nation and NRA appear to be compatible bedfellows, and NRA members have said that it is vitally important to change Australia's gun laws, as those opposing them often quote Australia's ban on automatic weapons as a success story.

Any comment?

I really wish folks on either side of the debate would stop trying to exploit tragedies . . .
In what way, pray tell, is the reporting of NRA attempts to interfere in Australian politics, and indeed, interfere with Australian legislation - exploiting a tragedy? It would appear to be the NRA, ably supported by the treasonous One Nation party, who are attempting to exploit tragedies. Did you hear the NRA advice to 'Attack, attack, attack' when people voice concern over mass shootings?

Singularity is giving good advice. The USA in general, and your President in particular, are right on the nose with Australians who only experience America through the media, and this sort of thing does not help the situation.

They learned from the best:

Never Let a Crisis Go to Waste

That was one of Rahm Emanuel’s rules when he worked as President Barack Obama’s White House chief of staff. According to Emanuel, it’s not about managing a crisis—it’s about using that crisis to advance your agenda.

Where did I say anything remotely related to what you responded with?

While gun control folks attempt to exploit the situation immediately after a high profile shooting at a much higher rate than the NRA . . . . my comment was directed at folks on both sides of the debate who run with their exploitation to prey on emotions. Whether it's the NRA seeking donations or Diane Feinstein dusting off her gun control agenda. Both need to stop.
