NRA sues ex-president Oliver North, saying he harmed the NRA

NEW YORK (AP) — The National Rifle Association has sued its former president, Oliver North, for what it called "conduct harmful to the NRA" as turmoil that was exposed publicly when North resigned two months ago continued Thursday when the organization also turned against its longtime chief lobbyist.
North, 75, was a military aide to the National Security Council in the 1980s when his role arranging the secret sale of weapons to Iran and the diversion of the proceeds to the anti-communist Contra rebels in Nicaragua was revealed.
In 1989, he was convicted of obstructing Congress during its investigation, destroying government documents and accepting an illegal gratuity. Two years later, the convictions were reversed.

North, darling of the right wing and champion of the Second Amendment is being sued by the NRA? What gives?

First I am hearing of a civil war within the NRA.

Not sure how this one slipped past me.
There always has been a bit. They are filled up with Fudds who support minor gun control because they don’t understand the point. NRA is more like NMRA...Not My Rifle Association

The NRA is a manufacturer’s organization. They are going to be their own downfall. Sadly too. They are the only thing between total/all but name bans like they have in the UK. I’m sure some left wing hacks will be happy, but the fudds who vote democrat will be surprised when they can’t by their over and unders.

That explains why North is getting sued by the NRA, it's the UK's doing.

N.R.A. Suspends Second-in-Command, Implicating Him in Coup Attempt
Christopher W. Cox, who leads the N.R.A.’s lobbying arm, is accused of participating in the recent failed attempt to oust the gun group’s leader.

I blame Theresa May.

N.R.A. Suspends Second-in-Command, Implicating Him in Coup Attempt
This surely cannot be the same Christopher Cox who was in charge of the Securities and Exchange Commission when the whole agency was asleep at the switch during the Great American Housing Bubble and the Bernie Madoff Ponzi Scheme, can it? When we had six-figure government employees spending their workdays at the SEC browsing the Internet for porn, instead of doing their jobs, policing and regulating America's financial markets, because the 'Cox' was guarding the hen-house?
